Turd Ferguson has been making fun of electronic music trends since 2003! Okay, we've only got the two songs, but we're workin' on it! The "band" is Mark and Sara Nicholas. Mark is probably best known as the man behind the synthpop band Cosmicity (though he's crankin' out a new brand of Electronica under his real name now... see marknicholas.org), and Sara is best known for her remix work under the name DJ Ginger Snapp.
The music to "This Is Your Crusty Christmas Present" is a riff on the "new" club sound made popular by Benny Benassi's song "Satisfaction". (You've heard it on that Wendy's commerical.)
The music to "Alan Cumming" is a riff on the Electroclash sound, specifically Miss Kitten + The Hacker with their song "Frank Sinatra".
