InfluencesMiles Davis to Fugazi and back again. We tend to pass all our influences through the genre of folk tinged indie rock, but being English the idea of putting ourselves into a genre in the first place makes us want to tear our man flesh suits off, but that’s not your fault. Some have said we make a sweet spine tingling kind of noise while others say we are "quietly seething." Some even say we rock like monkeys! Here’s what we say..... You decide.
Sounds Like We sound a bit like a cowboy from the old west in the streets of 21st century London who is being forced at gun point by his own shadow to confess his hopes and fears into an old tape recorder for uses unknown, with lots of guitars, beats and harmonies ricocheting off the concrete canyons all around....

At our core we are a music making / song writing duo more than a little obsessed with guitars, however we like to play with other people and our band: Rob, Ed and L'il Phil have been in the frame for a long time. We have a crazy lovely fan base who keep us in business and we feel like our best is just ahead of us - like a giant golden carrot leading us on and on, down a road, across a field and into a brown sack.... They will have to kill us to stop us.

Twitter seems to be off again for you guys.
Sorry I couldn't see your sunday set, also, can't make your Drury Lane show either. School runs in the a.m. Supposed to have a few resident ghosts there, one boots you up the bum if your performance isn't up to parr....but that's not a problem for you guys.

David Franks: Walkabouts Verse

Jun 29 2009 5:43 PM

(Hi: enjoyed my visit.)

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN

Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.

I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.

I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”

Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

Thanks for yesterday, the Neil Young cover was an amazing bonus! Will upload the video (as well as the others I took) tonight hopefully and let you know. I really think you should do a recording of that cover, you just completely owned it yesterday. And maybe make it a setlist sort of regular a la Wicked Game? Please do it at Latitude/Drury Lane - so many mroe people than yesterday deserve to hear it!x
