About HERMITAGE PRESENTS

For a while I have had an interest in Traditional Folk / Acid Folk / Weird Folk. It all started over 20 years ago with Black Sabbath and the acoustic filler tracks! It got more intense a few years ago when Gerard Langley from The Blue Aeroplanes introduced me to Fairport Convention. So now I will be working hard to bring all the best folk acts and bands to Bristol. Behold....folk is not the only genre I will be promoting, I will be booking all my favorite jazz, experimental, progressive and outsider artistes. I have decided to start the HERMITAGE label on which I will be releasing Folk, Jazz and Experimental recordings.......the studio is being built......all releases will recorded live to 2-track quater inch tape.

Deep, thick layers of rhythms and overlays of ambiance, from the gritty to the sublime, this eight-piece outfit create a controlled mayhem of weighty neo-tribal trance music, part Indian, part African, part Balkan, and part Baltimore, that transforms consciousness and carries the group and their listeners to higher states. The Wire magazine recently praised their 'refusal to acknowledge any kind of destination point for their jamming, achieving a convincing state of suspension throughout, helped by some engagingly forceful drumming.'
