::TURKO::
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he had his first approach to music at the age of 10 when his father arranged some guitar classes for him. 4 years later, inspired by his brother, he started playing drums, growing a real feeling for an instrument.
After wandering several local underground bands as a drummer -mostly Rock n Roll bands- he started researching, trying and enjoying the world of percussion instruments (congas, bongo drums, kettledrums), breathing the much warmer air of afro-Latin and afro-Brazilian rhythms.
Being 21, he arrived to Barcelona, Spain, Where he made up his mind to take his skill to an academic level and he signed up for the music school El Aula. It was not until the Spanish summer of 2003, while he was staying in Ibiza, that he started to be in touch with the turntables playing the DJ.
Settled back in Barcelona, by the end of 2003, he threw many private parties that helped him gain confidence when playing in public. He also arranged a series of After Hours parties together with Dj Caró and played in small city bars.
Facing the summer season of 2004, Turko brought up the successful “Sunset Sound Sessions” which took place at the Mochima Bar, on Nueva Marbella beach, hosting a number of local and international artists.
Between Oct 2004 and Feb 2005 he performed the Friday I’m in Love parties at DAF club and later that year he decided to take advantage of the previous success and repeated the formula of beach dancing. That time, Level 0 parties were developed at the Amparo “chiringuito” (small bar on the beach) on the Playa de la Marbella, definitely setting a new trend.
Simultaneously he became the resident DJ and manager of one of the main Barcelona’s after hours parties with the Burning Sessions @ Bang Bang! and later on he opened his own studio, Studio 52, where only morning sessions take place.
When 2006 began, he ran the Mayday! parties every Tuesday at Guru and when de summer began to poke out we returned to the environment where he feels like a fish in the water: the beach. That was how Fake Out! parties were launched at the La Nueva Ola chiringuito, again on La Nueva Marbella beach. There, many well known artists were invited. Among them were Michael Mayer, Superpitcher, Anja Schnaider, Tobias Thomas, Pan-Pot and Lee Van Dowski.
With his minimal house, electro and minimal techno style, Turko is nowadays one of the great figures of Barcelona’s night. He performed his high quality sessions at the most emblematic places such as Otto Sutz, Citi Hall, Fellini, La Terrraza, LeKashbash, DAF, Sidecar, Grial, Amnesia (Ibiza) and RAUM. There, each session stuck out because of the delightful atmospheres he ensured to display.
