Turning Point's crisis lines provide victims with supportive listening, information and referral resources, and access to agency services. Individuals concerned about the safety of a battered person may also call for information on the best ways to assist victims without jeopardizing anyone's safety.
Turning Point has the social responsibility to respond to the needs of victims of domestic violence by providing shelter, counseling, advocacy and general support services and to identify and confront the causes of domestic violence.
Our Services
Turning Point serves the counties of Marion, Delaware, Crawford, Morrow, Union, & Wyandot
..Shelter..
Turning Point provides victims/survivors of domestic violence and their children with safe, secure, temporary shelter in a comfortable atmosphere. The average shelter stay is 3 weeks. Clients and their children are encouraged to maintain their usual work and school schedule with safety as their first concern.

..Group Education & Support..
Residents participate in support groups. An advocate leads the group in discussions on self-esteem, assertiveness, safety planning, parenting and other issues. Individuals find support by sharing knowledge and experience with others who are in similar situations.
..Victims' Rights Advocacy..
A Turning Point advocate can familiarize clients with Ohio laws that pertain to their situation. The victims' rights advocates can help answer questions regarding custody, criminal charges, protection orders, dissolution and divorce, and property issues. Advocates can help victims understand the judicial process and attend legal and court appointments with the victim as requested. While the victims' rights advocates are not attorneys, however they can provide referrals to affordable or even free legal services. In addition, advocates are available to meet face-to-face with individuals who are considering using Turning Point's services. Advocates can meet at police departments or other safe places. Any individual with visible injuries may call and request a photo and written documentation of the injuries for possible future use. Parties with specific questions can meet with an advocate to have their concerns addressed.
..Support Groups..
Turning Point offers local support groups for current and former victims of domestic violence in each of the following counties: Crawford, Delaware, Marion, Morrow, Union and Wyandot. For the protection of all involved, members of the group must maintain full confidentiality of the group location, participating individuals and their discussions.
..Community Education..
Turning Point's community education program stresses the importance of a violence-free society. Efforts include free public speaking to many clubs, church groups, civic organizations, and college classes, and professional training to professional organizations such as hospitals, departments of job and family services, counseling centers, crisis hotlines, and local law enforcement agencies.

Turning Point wants you to know that you can be a part of something HUGE!!!Turning Point has a wonderful opportunity to benefit from an unprecedented fundraising ever.
Local restauateu, Tim Kildow, owner of the Warehouse Restaurant, announce that he has a plan for a fundraiser that will Pay off the mortgage on the Turning Point Facility!
His plan is simple. He says that he wants a very "grassroots" effort that will allow everyone to participate. He is calling it 10 from 10,000 X 10 based on the premise that if only 100,000 people would give $10 each $1 million would be raised to free the agency from their mortgage.
Kildow and the Turning Point staff will be available to talk to any group or individual interested in helping. The theory is that anyone could give just $10 and, by doing so, ordinary people will be part of an extraordinary event. Individually, no one is in the position to make a huge impact, but together we can!
A website is available for those who wish to participate www.tenfromten.com and a click of a button will take you to the donation site. The following banks in Turning Point's six county service area are also set up to receive donations: Chase, The Commercial Savings Bank, The Delaware County Bank, Fahey Bank, Farmers Citizens Bank, First Citizens, The Hungington, National City Bank, The Ohio State Bank, Richwood Banking Company and United Bank. In addition, checks made out to Turning Point can be sent to P.O Box 875 Marion, OH 43301.

selfish. Do not rebuke other's ideas. Be thoughtful and respectful to
everyone's religion. Do not make it dangerous for others to speak their
mind.
The
most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade
in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You
give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There
can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal
revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.
You can take away a man's political freedom and you won't hurt him-
unless you take away his freedom to feel. That can destroy him. That
kind of freedom can't be granted. Nobody can win it for you.
Dreams have no limits. Neither do you.
