Turnpike Joe & The Traffic Jam, NY's Premier Classic Rock/Pop Band, has been a major force on the Long Island, New York music scene since 1977.....so we must be doing SOMETHING right! The Band, performing tight renditions of music from the 60's to the 80's, covers such performers as ZZ Top, Buddy Holly, Queen, Creedence, The Ramones, Chuck Berry, KISS, The Stones, Steve Miller, The Beatles and Tom Petty as well as Originals. Starting in 2005, The Band brings its additional show "Songs You Can Sing To!" to the New York library circuit. This new show features Soft Rock Favorites by such artists as Simon & Garfunkle, John Denver, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins and The Beatles, just to name a few. We want EVERYBODY to have FUN! The group has a tight, clean sound with its four piece full rockin' band, or the three piece soft rock ensemble (no drums). Besides corporate events, private parties and a 25+ year history in the club scene as one of the best bar bands on Long Island, some Concert credits include: OTB of Greater New York; The 25th Annual Oyster Festival; N.Y. State Parks Cultural Concert Series at Bethpage State Park, Wildwood State Park, Captree State Park, Sunken Meadow State Park, Orient Beach State Park & Robert Moses State Park: The Lighthouse Festival at Montauk Point State Park; Harley Davidson N.Y. State Rally; The Long Island Corvette Show; Town of Hempstead Summer Concerts at Harold Walker Park; Town of Babylon Annual Beach Blast at Overlook Beach; Town of Babylon Summer Concert Series at Phelps Lane Mansion, Cedar Beach; Concerts for the Nassau County Public Library System at Seaford, Long Beach, Farmingdale & North Bellmore; The City of Long Beach Annual Arts & Crafts Festival/Music Under the Stars Concerts; Town of North Hempstead Summer Fun Series at Clinton G. Martin Park;The Brotherhood Winery Summer Concert Series; The Jones Beach Lobsterfest; The Belmont Stakes Fair at Belmont Racetrack; The Big A Fair at Aqueduct Raceway; Bellmore Family Street Festival; and Benefits for North Shore Hospital and Winthrop University Hospital. One of the band's original tunes, "You Are The Reason" was chosen for airplay on radio station WBAB 102.3 FM and the band's versions of The Beatles' "Birthday" and Paul McCartney's "High, High, High" were aired on WHPC 90.3 FM's Beatlesongs show.

Long Island, New York's Premier Classic Rock/Pop Band, Turnpike Joe & The Traffic Jam, was recently honored to have been selected to perform for a captive audience of 10,000+ food frenzied people at The 25th Annual Oyster Festival, (Oyster Bay, NY), October, 2008. Their rockin' sounds were also pumped throughout the entire event to reach over 100,000+ people who danced the day away while enjoying the East Coast's largest waterfront festival for their Silver Jubilee.

To all in the Traffic Jam, Welcome aboard and thank you for the request and the add. So it was Traffic Jam I saw at the Oyster fest...was diggin' the sound and saying "Man that sure looks like Ira Kaminsky minus the mustache." Glad to see Ira and crew are still out there doing what you love to do. I have 2 CD's coming out in 2009...dfferent genres but looking forward to some hammer time...and radio play. Off to Nashville in January to start the process. I'll have to check out the band again and say hello to one of the best bass players who ever played for me in my band "Witness"...my man Ira.
