turquoise loop comprises of "holistic consciousness activists” satyam brown and karun cowper. their music is offered as a psychotropic salve for the deep psychological distress endured in our tumultuous times.
taking inspiration from great universal, progressive and holistic minds such as Noam Chomsky, PR Sarkar and Vasudeva Barnao, their music is transmitted from beyond the filter of the everyday clamour, "the matrix" to which we are all daily subjected.
common practice in psychiatric wards is the painting of walls a turquoise colour which has been scientifically demonstrated to calm the disturbed mind. similarly "turquoise loops" are scientifically (fractal chaos) concocted through extemporised sessions and distributed for the inoculation of the collective mind.
karun was born and bred in the most isolated city in the Universe in a very ordinary fashion and, whilst not noticed by all, he did demonstrate many odd tendencies and certain potencies which slowly came to the fore. satyam was raised by tigers in melbourne and after many mind altering experiences in and out of the melbourne music scene in a variety of different bands, he eventually packed his bags and hit the east coast hippy trail with a rather attractive perth girl he had met.
after many travel adventures with his lass, satyam arrived in perth to form a strong friendship with karun during their study and mutual involvement in various holistic consciousness activism projects. at this stage their respective delusions of grandeur began to get out of control with each adding quite unnecessary fuel to the fires of each others schemes of global dominion.
years later they ended up living on the same street in the bush of perth's outer northern suburbs. that street was (and is) named "turquoise loop".
many factors converged such as; good vibrations from the pristine bush environment, a surrounding community of like-minded souls, solar-passive design, proximity, stunning advances in music technology and not least of all the realisation of a common musical dream and goal.
thus it was arranged, the God's conspired and turquoise loop was and is....
"in a time of great uncertainty and rapid change...
a soft, turquoise light, struggles to bring light.
amidst the haste...
a turquoise fire seeks to bring warmth in the cold madness.
from the precipice...
a turquoise tune hints of an alternative path.
in the midst of a "war against terror"...
turquoise folk dance a new dance in anticipation of a new dawn........."
Hey Turquoise Loop. Thanks for responding to our current Friends drive and adding Bands@Manjimup. We are doing this because we have a few really exciting events coming up like our recent concert, on Friday 20th, featuring Elora Danan (photo below) on their debut album tour, Manji prog rock band Ashoka and Perth ambient rockers Laced Affair. It was a high energy show with fantastic sound, and those who came got to meet the bands for more than an hour afterwards. The pictures are now up as a slideshow. Check them out at the top of our profile.
Next, we'll be hosting the biggest regional event in this year's WAMi Festival calendar, on 22nd May. The support acts: Abbe May, Sneaky Weasel Gang, Desert Radio and Ashoka. The headline act for the concert needs to change and will be announced asap. Following day Abbe (songwriting) , Drew Goddart (guitar) from Karnivool, Roy Martinez (bass) and Nick Johnson (drum tuning, cymbal selection and kit set-up) from Eskimo Joe will feature as lecturers in our B@M Youth Muso Workshops.
The June gig will feature an even bigger headline band, probably supported by local heroes Ashoka and Electrostatik.
We'll keep you updated with bulletins and you may want to tap into the bands listed on our Top 40. You'll always find the performers at our next gig right up the top. At the other end you'll find bands that have recently played, followed by acts, who want to play at B@M. Send us a comment if you like them and they maybe get the go.
Lastly: PLEASE VOTE AGAINST DAYLIGHT SAVING! It prevents proper FX lighting at outdoors concerts before 9pm in summer. Especially for support bands. It’s gotta go!!!
Peace, The Terminator

Hey lads! How are you all? Splendid we hope. Just wanted to stop by and let you know we've uploaded 2 brand new songs, off our debut EP "High Road" [due for release in Oct]. Very catchy, beer fueled, high-octane, hard rock. Hope you dig it! Let us know your verdict. Catch up soon.
Have you heard the buzz about Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) - this year as it’s going to be HUGE!! The sponsors we have on board are awesome - Chanel V, FasterLouder. com. au, FujiFilm, Converse and lots of others giving away cool gear!
Australia rates really well in this comp. Last year’s National Winner was Sydney’s great funk rock band Urban Stone who actually came 7th in the World Finals in London!
So yes, it’s all super exciting!! I’ll keep you updated on all the heat dates and locations or go to www. gbob. com as all the details will be on there.
