DJ Avalanche is the Virgin Island's leading all around selecta. Whether your taste is Reggae, Soca, Hip Hop, R&B or Oldies, you are surely guaranteed to have a musical experience unlike any other. Having over 10 years experience, Avalanche has become a house hold name throughout the Caribbean. While staying at the top of his game, Avalanche has worked with and toured with acts such as Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Richie Spice, Chuck Fender, Lady Saw, Lexxus, Makka Diamond, Merciless and many other reggae stars. In addition, Avalanche is constantly rocking parties with other well known DJ groups such as Stone Love, Metro-Media, Adonia, Black Chiney, Bass Odyssey, Mighty Crown, Poison Dart and Kilimanjaro- just to name a few. Top Gunner Avalanche has earned his reputation as the "Virgin Island's Premier DJ" when he won the Heineken's first DJ competition in 2003. Along with creating a line of wicked soca, reggae, and hip hop mixed tapes, he has held and hosted party events such as "Girls Gone Wild" and "Krunk Fridays" (The biggest weekly parties in the Virgin Islands). Moreover, Avalanche is also a producer and is currently co-producing rhythms with 5th Element Records out of Jamaica. Ryan Watts:
Born and raised in Harlem, New York. Ryan developed a love for music and film at an early age. During his teen years Ryan spent most of his time in the South Bronx (birth place of Hip-Hop!!!!) and assumed the role as videographer for some child hood friends who had formed a rap group called Psychotic MOB. At age sixteen Ryan shot and directed his first music video for Psychotic MOB and developed a weekly program on Bronx Net to promote the group. In an effort to create a better life for her children, and to escape the many traps that affect young people in the inner-city, Ryan's Mother decided to leave New York and move him along with his little sister to the island of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands when he was 17. The Virgin Islands community welcomed Ryan and his family with open arms and since then has become " adopted by the Virgin Islands". After graduating Ryan returned to New York to attend SUNY Purchase where he studied film and Studio engineering, shortly thereafter he spent some time in the D.C. Maryland area where he studied TV production. After a brief stint working for MTV, Ryan returned to the Virgin Islands to pursue an opportunity with a new cable TV network called TV2. It was at TV 2 that Ryan was able to create and produce a variety of programming including Two Telethons, Carnival Parade Coverage, and a live call in talk show. Ryan is probably best known throughout the Virgin Islands as the producer and host for the V.I.'s longest running and most successful music video show “Video Vibe” which aired for over five seasons. Through Video Vibe Ryan has had an oppurtunity to meet and interview dozens of well known actors and artist. The show also allowed him to develope freindships and work with music artist hailing from the V.I. before they were known throughout the Carribean. These artist include Virgin Islanders like Pressure, DA Blood, 2ekwhip ( Rock City) Niyorah and De Apostle. In 2003 Ryan created a production company called PsyMOB Entertainment. In association with a New York based company called CV/Grafx Ryan produced and directed a straight to DVD movie called "Repercussions". After a year of touring and doing promotion for "Repercussions" Ryan returned to the Virgin Islands in 2005 where he currently resides. Who I'd like to meet: Idesha:
Born on May 17, 1985, Idesha Devery Browne was born to Devery Williams and Patrick Browne. Arriving a full two months early, she weighed a mere 4 pounds 13 ounces. At age 13, Idesha moved from the island of St. Kitts to St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. She attended and graduated from the Addelita Cancryn Junior High Class of 1999 and the Charlotte Amalie High Class of 2003. A top ten student in a class of over 250, Idesha participated in the Early Admissions Program at the University of the Virgin Islands, as a Biology major. While at UVI, Idesha participated in the Emerging Caribbean Scientists program and traveled to research conferences across the nation presenting scientific research conducted at the University. She graduated in May of 2007 with her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. Idesha Browne was a cast member for Season Four of the BET’s hit reality series, College Hill. Currently, she is employed at Schneider Regional Medical Center and is the co-host of TV2’s talk/entertainment show, Studio2. She plans on applying to graduate school to study immunology and/or infectious diseases.
