In a business ruled by swine, all pigs are upwardly mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely.

Inspired by these words, the Vincent Black Shadow has embraced the philosophy, If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. On September 15th 2008, this idea was realized as they released their sophomore album entitled, "El Monstruo"

"El Monstruo" is a new direction for the Vincent Black Shadow. While their debut album Fears in the Water delved more into the realm of campy rock and cabaret, the new album ups the ante with a greater focus and maturity in the song writing. The songs weave catchy hooks with an array of different musical styles, while maintaining a sonic intensity throughout.

In the spirit of the unconventional writing approach to "El Monstruo", the method of release will be just as unorthodox. "El Monstruo" will only be available from the band's online store as a physical copy and download, and as a download on Itunes. Music speaks louder than words. To truly get it, you need not do anything more than experience "El Monstruo" for yourself.

TVBS History timeline:


JUNE 2003: Robbie, Cassie, and Tony record the first two TVBS demos, these songs would include Letters to no one, and an unreleased track State of Suspicion.

SEPT 2003: TVBS Perform their first live performance at The legendary Colbalt, in Vancouver BC, Canada. This Line up would include ..boards Nicole Hurst, and on Bass Alicia Rembold, They would perform several shows with this line up.

MARCH 2004: TVBS release the first self titled EP. All but two of these songs would go on to be feature on their first full length release.

FEB 2005: Chris joins TVBS reuniting the brothers Kirkham.

SEPT 2005: TVBS Begin recording FEARS IN THE WATER,

APRIL 2006: TVBS finish Fears In The Water and head out on their first National tour with Canadian Artist Bif Naked.

JUNE/JULY/AUG 2006:TVBS sign with Bodogmusic and go overseas and perform their first UK performance, they begin their first stint on warped tour in June, in July the album is released and in August they finish the 50 show run of that summer.

SEPT/OCT 2006: First tour in Europe, TVBS are featured in the horror Film FEAST, Go to number one on FuseTV, and present and perform at the Chainsaw awards for fuse.

DEC 2006: TVBS gets the opportunity to perform with the legendary Joan Jet on a run of the east coast.

JAN ..'96 DEC 2007: TVBS peforms in 14 different countries, on two Euro-UK tours, and two U.S tours and is a main stage act on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour.

JAN 2008: U.S tour cancelled, TVBS begins writing their follow up album entitled EL MONSTRUO

FEB/MARCH/APRIL: TVBS finishes writing and recording EL Monstruo at Mushroom studios in Vancouver BC Canada. During Vocals TVBS finds out that Bodog Music is no more leaving them without a label.

JUNE/JULY/AUG 2008: TVBS from Beef Records Inc. and begin create their innovative webstore "http://www.tvbsmusic.com" to release EL MONSTRUO

SEPT 2008: El MONSTRUO IS RELEASED

DEC 2008 : The EP HEAD IN A BOX is featuring a cover of the Jefferson Airplane song White Rabbit.
