"Dear T.V.,
Thank you for your good vibes! Do all the stuff that you love too!
PARTY HARD and ENJOY LIFE RIGHT NOW!
Love, Andrew W.K."
"Not many can rock the squared-off Charlie Chaplin mustache and sea captain hat like the toy piano/guitar-playing T.V. Coahran, a musician as eccentric looking as he sounds. His songs are charming lo-fi pop concoctions, whose key creative ingredients must stem from huffing magic markers with Ariel Pink, watching a Sid and Marty Krofft children’s program on mute, and listening to The Beatles, forward and backward. With acoustic guitar, bass, the aforementioned toy piano, micro Korg, and drums all factored in, his music draws the boundaries of where the imagination can go – somewhere between a colorful, lucid dream or a demented clown nightmare. And the kids really dig it, as witnessed when he and his band played SW's REVRBfest in October. Tonight’s show, benefiting The Bikery, a local non-profit community bike workshop, is all-ages as well so don’t forget the children! With Ribbons and Grand Hallway."
"T.V. Coahran was the biggest surprise of the day. At first he played a song on the guitar, then made his way to the Micro-Korg and toy piano for another few, before bringing a band, including Charles Leo Gebhardt IV on bass. It came out sounding like psychedelic pop for the kids. In fact, a number of kids were present for this curious figure, and they all seemed to enjoy themselves along with their parents." TRAVIS RITTER [seattle weekly]
"Though never a "frontman" before now, Seattle singer-songwriter T. V. Coahran has always been the kind of musician who lent interesting and original input to every band in which he appeared. Playing in both Popular Shapes and Holy Ghost Revival in the last four years, Coahran has built a reputation as one of the more inventive guitarists in the local bizarro art-punk community. The exhilarating hooks that once issued from his guitar and ran wild through the frantic landscape painted by the Popular Shapes' rhythm section haven't softened. Now, however, they've mutated into the greater substance of his solo music." BILL BULLOCK [the stranger]
Washington's T.v. Coahran creates music that,
if it existed in a material form, would resemble
some sort of drugged-out carnival. There would
be bright colors, shapes that had no name and
made no sense, sounds with mysterious origins,
a vaguely unsettling and paranoid vibe. These
things may come close to frightening you, if they
weren't so damn captivating. Plus, it all carries an
exhilarating brand of fun...They may just make
more familiar forms of pop music seem like a
waste of time.

The Tiger Lounge is the new hip place. Located in Georgetown right near the Seattle Design Center on S. Orcas just off of 4th Ave S.
Bra's for the Cause (with Howlin' Houndog & Joey "The Saint" & the A-Men) 17 Oct 2009, 09:00 PM - The Tiger Lounge 412 S Orcas St Seattle, Washington 98108
OK so we have been nice and pretty so far, but now it is time to get "down & dirty"! Howlin' Houndog & The Infamous Loosers will be playing with our sax player's band Joey "The Saint" and the A-Men at Tiger Lounge down in Georgetown here in Seattle on Saturday Oct 17th.
Joey "The Saint" and the A-men will be serving up the nastiest (but tasteful) "Dirty Blues" and warming up the crowd for the "Bras for the Cause" charity auction to support the fight against Breast Cancer. Then Joey will play with Howlin' Houndog in the Infamous Loosers (along with their full Horn Section!) Shakin' it down all night!
Come give us (and "Bras for the Cause") your support!
"IT SOUNDS LIKE A CAT BEING SUCKED INTO A LAWNMOWER IT HAS BEEN CALLED PSYCHEDELIC HONKY-TONK FROM THE NOT TO DISTANT MISERABLE FUTURE, A STYLE OF MUSIC THAT IS THE DIRECT RESULT OF CRAWLING ON ONES HANDS AND KNEES THROUGH BROKEN GLASS AROUND THE WORLD THREE TIMES. IT SOUNDS LIKE AND ENDLESS DUMPSTER FULL OF ANIMAL PARTS NEXT TO YOUR APARTMENT ON THE 4TH OF JULY. IT WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE EPIC CONTENT WHICH CONVERTED JESUS TO CHRISTIANITY AND PRY APART THE DEVILS WALLET WITH THE JAWS OF LIFE, PSYCHEDELIC COWBOY PARTY MUSIC FROM THE NETHER REGIONS OF SPACE OR THEREFORE THE SPACE IN BETWEEN.
