Twanée at twenty-three years of age continues to have a very busy and fulfilling life. She was born on September 1st, 1985 and has always displayed a genuine passion for singing, dancing, and acting. At age seven she began singing lessons and she publicly commenced her vocal career. She has performed in numerous major productions World wide, utilizing her talents of singing, dancing, acting, art, and sports to enhance her artistic life.
Twanée is the recipient of many awards. At ten years old she received Best Vocalist and Overall Winner of the Gala Festival for the Advancement of Performing Arts, which is affiliated with the British Federation of Music Festivals.
Under the company Niamke Productions, founded in her honor, she hosted her very own Youth Gospel Concert entitled ..Twanée & Friends.. later opening for world renowned gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Cece Winans, and many more. "Twanée & Friends" was held at the City Hall on August 1998; she was 12 years old. It was a successful concert sold out all 3 nights and brought back by popular demand a week later, which was also a sell out.
In April 1999, she received the Outstanding Youth Award for Community Service and Talent, presented by her Local Broadcasting Company in conjunction with ..BET.. held at the Cedarbridge Academy.
In July 2002, Twanée was crowned Miss Hal Jackson Talented Teen Bermuda. This is an international competition first held locally in each country then the winners are brought together in NYC where the final competition takes place.
December 2003, she opened for the Snoop Dogg Christmas concert held in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Metro Center where she was the only singer among other rappers performing original songs that she wrote and arranged.
October 2004, she participated in another Music Festival held in the Royal Naval Dockyard. She performed alongside international jazz artists including Seal, Isaac Hayes, Mike Phillips and the Unwrapped Allstars.
Early 2005, Twanée opened for world renowned recording stars such as Stephanie Mills, Faith Evans, Charlie Wilson, and Kirk Franklin, also American Idol finalists George Huff and Jennifer Hudson, and reggae artists Freddie McGregor, Glen Washington, and Warrior King.
Mid 2005, Twanée continues to shine as she wins best vocalist and best collaboration in the underground music awards. Also as 2005 draws to a close she performs at the Reggae Expo and opened for such artists as I-wayne, Bascome-X, Tony Rebel and others.
As 2006 approached Twanée starts the year off strong opening for Keyshia Cole in a New Years Concert.
In 2007, she signed with a Philadelphia Management Company called Pham Entertainment and is currently working on her debut recording project included in this demo package which is a true work of art that features her skills as a consummate writer, arranger, and performer who also displays her professional versatility in tracking her own background vocals.
Twanee has started off with a bang for the year of 2008 by launching one of her new songs “Holla”, co-written and arranged by herself, Darrel Anthony of “Az Yet”, as well as Mike B of Basic Apes Productions, on Bermuda’s Number One radio station “Hott 107.5”. The song is currently in heavy rotation winning "The Best RnB Song Male or Female" award as well as "Song of the Year" at this year's Bermuda "Tha Underground Music Awards"!
In April 2008, she was the winner of the Singing For Success Series competition (Bermuda's version of American Idol) held at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel in Bermuda. She was awarded with a $10,000 scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music.
Still at it... October 2008, Twanée opened on the mainstage for Alicia Keys and Aaron Neville singing a medley of songs with a live band.
March 2009, Twanee shared the stage with Fantasia Barrino of American Idol at the Singing For Success 2009 Competition as she relinquished her title as Winner of the 2008 competition.
Twanée is destined to excel in the performing arts where her focus on becoming internationally recognized will be assured with the support of those that appreciate her exceptionally unique talent.
