T.w.a.u.n. S.h.a.d.y. is an acronym which stands for "teach wisdom and understanding naturally striking hip hop and devastating ya'll." TwaunShady, also referred to as Luciano or Business Ventures is a hip hop artist determined to leave his permanent mark in the rap industry. Twaun is a powerful lyricist who combines street wisdom and "game" into words that are felt by all ages, races, and sexes. As a product of the projects he has seen both sides of life; both the lifeyles of a hustler and as an educated, conscious, college graduate.
Twaun's music can be simply described as the "next generation of game spittin." He is a combination of both the ruggedness of the streets and the smoothness of player from the dirty south. His album title "Commercially Hood" describes the shrewd elements of the streets broken down into words that the audience can listen and relate to. His album is highly marketable while still maintaining street credibility.
Representing Peoria, IL, the hometown of Richard Pryor, TwaunShady has a unique style that is indigenous to the Midwest. His delivery is bound to reach audiences in the south, west coast, east, as well the Midwest. Twaun's has a style that guarantees large reception because of his lyrical versatility. His rap style is not one which is specifically limited to the Midwest.
His musical influences include Eightball and MJG, Scarface, UGK, and old school emcees like Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, Tribe Called Quest, Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane. His influences are not restricted to just Hip Hop, but, include R&B artist like Lenny Williams, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan, and Anita Baker. His musical selection is well rounded and displayed in his various styles of delivery.
Twaun Shady has numerous personal accomplishments that extend far beyond the music industry. Besides being a U.S. Armed Service Veteran and college graduate he is the proud co-Ceo of Nitty Gritty Inc. Nitty Gritty is an independent label which specializes in hip hop and R&B. His label has a host of talented emcees, vocalists, and producers. He has done numerous shows, interviews, and has regular airtime in the Midwest.
Twaun Shady has already completed two albums and is currently looking for a distribution deal.
