Influences	I have lots of music that I like but its not necessarily reflected in the music I make. Some people have compared me to John Otway, but its only 'cos we both muck about on stage, and have been known to do the odd dodgy cover. The songs I write are nothing like his songs! I have couched a coupla my songs in a rock 'n' roll framework but they ain't rock and roll! Mark bosley's bass influences, I would hazard a guess, are the Cure, Joy division, Bauhaus and more. Nick Clacks drum influences are Can and Jah Wobble, though he can play pretty much the whole gamut..This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5

This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5 After years of solo acoustic hell and largely disasterous 'function gigs,' I sought a band to realize my fairly unique vision of musical dystopia. It had really to take the form of a 'power trio,' father, son and holy ghost! So I put an ad in Oxford's three main music shops for a "drummer and bassist with balls," and of course got zero replies.. However, a fine songwriter called Mark Bosley(ex of Passion Play,) seemed always, as in Edgar Allen Poe's 'William Wilson,' to be shadowing me. In fact he even resembled a shadow with his dark countenance and long wispy locks. Wherever I played- whether local festival or pub- he was always playing either directly before or after me, his mournful wail haunting me no matter how hard I sought to avoid his baleful glare!!! Finally one day after my habitual 7-hour drinking session at the King's head and Bell, Abingdon, I even found myself onstage with the ghostly wraith- he was playing on a bass guitar fashioned from human skulls. We'd sung with each other at the Punt and other places and now it seemed as if we were doomed to form a diabolic partnership. We decided to have our debut gig at the Port Mahon and Mark Bosley suggested a drummer, a nice young man named Steve Frame.. Luckily he wasn't really a nice young man at all but an evil uber-metal overlord!!! Usually Steve graced the boards with Thrash-Titans faith in hate, but played a fair few gigs with us, we even made it to Piccadilly once.. due to the rash devil-may-care attitude of the young Stevemeister, Nick Clack became our new number- one choice for drummer. This was fairly organic as he'd stepped up on several occaisons to play drums with me in the past when I was still solo acoustic, and furthermore he was immensely experienced , extremely versatile, friendly and easy-going- and has a beautiful wife! Anyway, we went on to support the Paddingtons(then at no. 16 in the U.K. Charts,) at the Rhythm Factory- we got in the back door.. I thought perhaps naively it would be our ticket out of Oxford, but no we're still 24th on the bill at the dog and Strumpet, still, someones bound to recognize our greatness if we keep doing this- even Mark Bosley thinks we're good now!!
