Ben has been a DJ for near on 12 years. First getting a taste for quality dance music thanks to Sasha and John Digweed's amazing sets and mix cds. The passion for this music was so great that ben felt a burning passion to not only listen to this music but to spread the word of it as much as he could, and so here on in started his mission in life. To explore music and expose it to as many people as possible.
Throughout his DJ career ben has managed to do this extremely well, having DJ'd regularly in Berlin and also more far flung places such as Egypt and Bulgaria. Also brodcasting on Radio, his sets have become very unique and much sought after.
His style goes all the way from Deep almost ambient house right through to quality techno. Always a journey with twists and turns and his own one off edits, any set from Ben is an exciting ride through the aural delights that make him tick.
After many years of DJing, Ben realised that just playing others' records wasn't enough, so, he set out to create the music he had within and share that with the world.
For the past 5 years Ben has been producing under the name of "Benwaa" and to much success.
Many quality productions and remixes under his belt have stood him alongside many top names. A release for 1, 5, 9, 13 music is due in April.
His production style matches his DJ sets but is also much more diverse, he creates the music that comes from within, taking in various styles and influences.
At the moment Ben is very busy in the studio working on a new theMaLm ep, with collaboration partner Martin Standen, and also on a few solo and remix projects including one for Israel Montenegro - label boss of Moontenegro Recorings from Mexico.
His production is very much in demand at the moment and he is the rising star of the modern electronic moment.
Neil Atkin first saw the light of day in 1979, hailing from Llanberis in the beautiful scenery of snowdonia he found this the perfect inspiration alongside his love of trance to grace the decks.
A DJ from the age of 19 he began to play underground parties spinning deep trance and progressive house - influenced by the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Danny Howells and Carl Cox his sound and talents were soon recognised by his peers and became a name to be associated with a great party.
He soon went on to play such celebrated nights as Sunday Service in Hendre Hall and gained a monthly residency for the much acclaimed Essence night. His style attracted many to the floors and enlightened them to his unique sound, which matured into a more house and tribal led vibe guaranteed to shake the floors wherever he played.
Neil now promotes his own night - Rhythm Selectaz alongside Ray an Ifan - a night which has gone from strength to strength and gathered a formidable following. You can find them monthly at Jwmpin Jacs Cafe in Holyhead on the last Saturday of every month.
