I am a guitarist, composer and programmer working extensively in the improvised and electronic music community of Melbourne. Since graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1995, I have been dedicated to playing original music with a wide variety of artists fusing organic and processed sound.
In 1999, I was included as part of the Emerging Artists Initiative Grant awarded to Adrian Jackson from the Australia Council for the Arts. In March 2000, I received a Development Grant from the Australia Council to study composition and improvisation techniques in New York City with contemporary guitarist and composer Wayne Krantz.
I run music mentoring programs for inner urban youth at the Arts Centre in Melbourne and I teach beat production and guitar at Sydney Road Community School in Brunswick.
I also help run Outpost, an open monthly audio visual jam on the last Wednesday of every month at
Horse Bazaar in the Melbourne CBD.

hey hey there! yes yes to gigs when i get back..looking forward to it very much. Mat and I did a little demo of a song..i will send it to you. What venues do you think i should hassle for some gigs?
hey dan, not sure if you remember me, but i played with you and jake mason and choi at the caulfield grammar school jazz night. anyway, i remember seeing you do a live improvised lap top set at scarlette for the first blank tape music gig (i was actually the guy that did all the bookings there so i booked it...) and i really liked your set. anyway, i've been experimenting a lot with solo guitar with effects and loop station, even done a gig at 303 opening for my band doing it and a gig early last year at Make It Up Club doing something similar. point is, i want to get a laptop and start experimenting with all the electronic stuff, and i have no idea where to start. i was wondering if maybe you could give me some tips, or maybe i could get a lesson on guitar with you some time and you can show me some gear or something...? ummm... please write back, i've saved up a little bit teaching and doing a bit of gigging and really like the stuff i've heard from you, so yeh... if you have a free moment, that'd be helpful, just gear, software, computers, anything... cheers.
