Playboy's official tour DJ, Urb's Next 100 (2001), & the 1st female to produce an instructional DJ DVD series, Shortee is one of the most diverse & technically skilled female DJs in the world. Featured in many documentaries, her contribution to the art of turntablism for the last 12 years earned her a spot as the only female DJ featured in Doug Pray's movie SCRATCH. Shortee has made television appearances on all the major US networks & cable channels (NBC, CBS, ABC, UPN, FOX, MTV, VH1, HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, IFC, Sundance) & her most recent appearances are the role of DJ for the Tyra Banks Show & a celebrity cameo in a Sony PSP commercial. Shortee's the 1st & only female mixer on Power 106 fm (LA's ..1 Hip Hop station) and is currently a DJ professor at The Scratch DJ Academy founded by RUN DMC's Jam Master Jay where she teaches DJ classes, workshops & private lessons at the LA school. Shortee's the only female to win the "Fever/Buzz Battle of the DJ's" ('97) & the 1st female to release a solo turntablist album, "The Dreamer" ('99). At 25, Annalyze has established herself as one of the leading ladies of Breaks & turntablism. She has played all over the US & Canada, alongside DJs such as Q-Bert, Baby Anne, X-ecutioners, Faust & Shortee, Dopey, Reid Speed & DJ Rap to name a few. She has toured extensively with Playboy's 50th Anniversary DJ Shortee & with Breakbeat Science's own Reid Speed. In 2006 she also toured with the westcoast's DJ Quik & appeared on "The Jimmy Kimmel Show" backing B Real & Travis Barker. To top off that year, she performed with Lady Sovereign on New Years Eve at MTV Studios in Times Square! Her stellar scratching & mixing style have earned her national sponsorships. Regularly rocking the club and party scene, crowds are not only mesmerized by Annalyze's scratching & turntable trickery, but by her energetic stage presence which creates a vibe that keeps the dancefloor moving all night long. The crowd pleaser that she is, Annalyze can often be found stepping away from the turntables and joining the crowd in a dance! But in order to truly understand Annalyze, let's take it back to the beginning, to her first residency in Rochester, NY at the legendary club Vibes. At Vibes where she played mostly 2-step, Breaks & house, her passion of music fueled her to explore different possibilities and to take DJing to the next level. And coincidentally in the fall of 2001, she became inspired by local scratch/turntablist DJs and realized that scratching was what she really wanted to learn. Two years later at the Winter NAMM show 2003 she was able to showcase her skills and this is where she met scratch mistress DJ Shortee (one half of the LA based duo Faust & Shortee.) Returning at winter NAMM 2004 show, Annalyze played alongside Shortee on 4 turntables & together, Annalyze & Shortee formed the first female 2x4 scratch duo called "Twice As Nice". Annalyze is featured alongside Shortee in DJ documentaries, "Girl" & "Vinyl is a Girls Best Friend" & she also has a cameo in "Shortee's DJ 202" instructional DVD. Collaborating w/ top notch Breaks producers (DJ Fixx & J Break) who sample her scratches for their material, Annalyze has recently stepped into the studio with plans of producing her own tracks in the near future. She is also working on a few hip hop collaborations with Eyeconz Entertainment & through Eyekons she has been playing more hip hop and party rockin style. And to think her journey has just begun!
