Twin Cities Battle League is the brainchild of TruthMaze, one of the finest freestyle mc's in the Minneapolis game. As one of the originators of hip hop in the Midwest, he believes it is time to reinvigorate aspects of the culture that seem to be forgotten in the modern hustle.....one of them being the MC battle. Together with the minds of Rose Up Productions (the lovely ladies that brought you Freak In Fridays), we are setting out to build and foster the real deal! This is about coming together as a community, putting down your promotional flier, your cell phone, the cd your grindin, your paper and pen, and engaging each other in the essence of what Hip-Hop is - creating in the moment with nothing but your skills, and each other. TCBL is also about stepping up your game in a city that has so much talent that goes unrecognized and so much recognized talent that has gotten lazy. So yeah... that's a challenge... but all in the name of peace, love, and Hip-Hop!
This is how it works--
Sign up is 9pm - 11pm
There will be 12 slots to fill
Emcees will go head to head with two bouts for each round.
1st Bout - 45 sec.
2nd Bout - 60 sec.
NOTE: This is about freestyling - not spittin a pre written flow!
The winner of each round will be determined by a panel of guest judges.
Each winner will move on to the next round until the last Emcee is determined.
The last standing Emcee of each battle will go home with a $75 prize.
This Battle will happen every last Saturday of the month, unless otherwise noted.
The winners in each of 6 monthly Battles will go on to compete for a $200 dollar cash prize and the Twin Cities Battle League Series Championship.

She Will Be Missed Greatly By Her Loving Husband: Antonio Gonzalez, Beloved Children: Tacita, Antonio, Carmen, Jesus, Thalia & Noah Gonzalez. Mother: Carmen Orea, Plus Many Other Family & Friends. Judy's Work, Weather Teaching Teens, Advocating For Peoples Rights, Or Her Prevention Work Is A Legacy In Itself. Always There For Her Family & Many Others. Judy's Kindness Has Touched Many People.
