Sounds Like
A giant wall of sound and pounding rhythm, coupled with the dynamic vocals of both Jimmy Walls and Bobbie Rae. Hook ridden songs and original delivery- there is no other way to describe Twin Engines but "INNOVATIVE and UNIQUE".
The recordings here were done with the help of Boston legend David Minehan at his Woolly Mammoth Sound Studio.
All the songs were penned by Bobbie and Jimmy.
Twin Engines are a TWO piece band (Guitar and Drums) from New York City formed in 2006. As heard in the recordings here, there are no gimmicks or overdubs. What you hear is what you get live too! A powerhouse of energy and soul.
Jimmy Walls played guitar and was the lead singer in Das Damen when he was just a teenager, touring the world and recording for SST, Sub-Pop and Thurston Moore's label Ecstatic Peace. When DD parted he then formed New United Monster Show in NYC where he met drummer/singer Bobbie Rae. Bobbie too started playing in bands at a very young age- The Executive Slacks from Phillie, where Rae was raised, Spear Of Destiny and Utah Saints, the latter two from his time living in the UK. During this time Jimmy even served a stint in D-Generation as a touring guitarist (when Todd Youth left the band), playing stadiums opening for Offspring. When they disbanded, he headed North where he created the critics darling Vacationland. Itching to get back to his New York roots, Jimmy left Vacationland and hooked back up with his longtime musical soulmate Bobbie Rae who he ran into one day by chance on the corner of Broadway and Spring Street in the Summer of 2004. Happy to be reunited, together they are TWIN ENGINES.
The decision to become a "two piece" emerged when they got together to jam and realized they could create the sound they wanted with just the two of them. Between Jimmy's very personal and dynamic guitar sound and Bobbie's ability to make a set of drums sound like a bass player is hiding in the kit, what materialized is a perfect blend of both their personalities and musical tastes.
Exciting and raw yet tight, their live show is a full on, in your face experience.
Dig it!

Thanks. I love your sound and platitude. If you get to Seattle Town let me know. I'm not into free downloads as it messes up my ITUNES library organization. Let me know if your CD is available to purchase via ITUNES or Paypal.
Thanks for the request. I think Das Damen were one of the best bands of the 80's You guys didn't get the recognition you deserved. I like the sound of Twin Engines, do you have anything I can purchase?
