About me:

“They bring a youth-minded perspective to the Atlanta theater scene”–Creative Loafing

Twinhead Theatre has been providing affordable thrills to the Atlanta community since 2003. Formed as an arts collaborative by a group of Georgia State students, the ensemble grew and mutated over the years to become an independent, non-profit theater company. Our budget and sense of humor may have grown (slightly), but we have maintained our original vision to provide our audience with original (or little seen) live performance. We have had the privilege of performing all over the Atlanta area, and even toured our show, Resisting the Birthmark, to the Minnesota Fringe Festival in 2006. In 2008, Twinhead joined forces with Bland Hack Productions to create our first feature- length film, Loaded Guns: The Movie! Based on our live sketch-comedy show, the film played to delighted crowds in both Atlanta and Iraq.

Twinhead is known for live, performance-based events that can often feel like a party the audience is crashing. This has been true since our first production, Social Maladies: The Comedies right up to our most recent Midnight Cakesit (our annual food drive). In between we have tackled Elizabethan tragedy (Arden of Faversham), feminist deconstruction (Stand-In Sisters), parodies (Christian Comic Chaos!, Choose Your Adventure), and have been proud to perform occasional outside-written works such as Pterodactyls by Nikki Silva, Whatever, which adapted Heather Woodbury’s epic one-woman show into a 10-hr. ensemble play, and Susan Lori-Parks 365 Plays in 365 Days.

We also filmed some sketches for YouTube !

DONATE TO TWINHEAD THEATRE!
We are an official nonprofit organization!

Twinhead Theatre and Performance Group is comprised of 11 actors and artists who love to produce and develop pieces that ask audiences not to leave the event or performance at the door, but to take it with them for creative fuel. We’re interested in re-envisioning existing plays and taking on brand-new work yet to be seen in Atlanta.

LOOK AT WHAT WE JUST DID!
East Atlanta Strut 2009

This is our very first performance for the East Atlanta Strut. We call East Atlanta our home so it was only natural that we came out to show our EAV pride! Even though it rained pretty much all day, we stuck it out and performed for all of our friends and neighbors. Thanks to everyone for coming out to see us. And a BIG thanks to our bestie Katie Hawkins-Gaar for taking these lovely pics!
....

Who I'd like to meet:

the Bard, Suzan Lori-Parks, theater enthusiasts, people who like to sit in cake, Chef Boyardee, at least one hippie, erotic Communists, Alexander Hamilton, Necessity and Invention, Nanny Jo, Jon Stewart, Paul Bunyan, several Mormons, Psychic Zara, and anyone who looks at a Rorschach test and thinks of spidery butterflies or vaginas.
