It’s not often that you hear a single artist play songs as diverse in age as “Fever” by Peggy Lee and “La Isla Bonita” by Madonna in the same set. It’s even more rare to find a group who’s entire repertoire consists of a blend of jazz standards, bossa nova classics and modern pop music by k.d. Lang, 8 ½ Souvenirs, Everything But the Girl, and Norah Jones.
Yet with Twisted Desire, the music of several generations and styles blends into one smooth, smokey, infectious sound. Call it jazz, pop, soft rock, Latin, lounge or all of these - the effect, pleased listeners, will be the same.
Anchored by notable guitarist Jeff Perry and new-to-the-scene vocalist Becky Bastien, Twisted Desire is the perfect band to set a seductive mood and impress the casual and the most discerning of listeners. The two perform with larger ensembles (quartet, quintet) as well as in duo format.
