Twisted Diamond is:
The Jazzsinger- Dave Gerard on vocals
The Ice Cream Man- Tim Brockway on guitar
Dr. Love- Andy Fulton on bass
Benny Jett- Ben Hales on drums
We are the greatest band you've ever heard at the exact moment you are hearing us!
Influences
hmmmmmmmm.......that is a tough one........ but we'll probably have to go with Neil Diamond for starters. The sparkly-shirted Jazzsinger's sultry sounds affected us in such a way that we are all in currently in therapy.....
Other influences include Van Halen, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Kenny Not-gers, brief forays into Metallica, and countless others we will add at a later date...
Twisted Diamond soars again like a phoenix from the ashes...or is it an albatross into the flames? Either way, your long, looooonnnngggg wait is FINALLY OVER! Time to "feel the love" with Twisted Diamond...MySpace style!
Below is Twisted Diamond's Old Bio page for your enjoyment while we are working creating our up to date version for you. This was created about 5-6 years ago for submission to a music competition in Rockford.
It could be said that Twisted Diamond is a band like no other. And you’d probably be right. Have you ever heard Neil Diamond sing “Crazy Train” or “Highway to Hell?” You will with this band. Have you ever listened to the classic Neil Diamond hit, “Kentucky Woman,” and thought, “Gee, cool song, but that would sound so much better pepped up a touch.” Well, that thought becomes a reality when you experience Twisted Diamond live.
Twisted Diamond is comprised of four wayward music lovers, who come together and create beautiful music. You may even recognize some of the names. The ‘Ice Cream Man’ Tim Brockway is the man who taught Eddie Van Halen the craft of playing guitar. Bass player Andy Fulton has been fortunate enough to play with Cheap Trick on their Dream Police album. Indeed…he played the triangle on their hit single “Dream Police.” Unfortunately his album credit was forgotten, and it is a very difficult part to hear on the song, but take a listen anyway. Ben Hales, a.k.a. Benny Jett, a.k.a. Benjamin Jettanyahoo, was once the drummer for the successful local band “Septran.” When Septran broke up after their first gig, Ben went and studied with Buddha in India. Following that, Ben became Ted Nugent’s studio drummer. Unfortunately, this also is left uncredited on Ted’s albums. Finally, there is our “Jazz Singer,” Dave Gerard. He is a man who actually worked with the great Neil Diamond. If you think that Babs Striesand was the first choice for, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” you are certainly mistaken. At every show, Dave weeps during that song, but unfortunately, none of the other band members know why. All of the preceding is absolutely true. Mostly.
What definitely is true is Twisted Diamond’s enthusiasm for playing live, and grabbing hold of a crowd, and choking the li…….never mind.
Twisted Diamond plays various covers from the great Neil Diamond, but you won’t see them all dressing up like him, as shown in the film, “Saving Silverman.” No, only the singer Dave does that.
The band has been together on and off for 10-years now, and they truly enjoy playing live. Sure, they could be Beatles, stay in a studio and record hit album after hit album, make millions, and never have to work another day in their lives, but Twisted Diamond just loves to play live. You gotta love them!
Twisted Diamond also does covers from artists like Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Roger Williams and many, many others. If you want a fun band without egos and are just looking to have a good time, then Twisted Diamond is the band for you.
This short video will give all of you a taste of what you are craving...a glimpse into the inner-workings of Twisted Diamond.
