Experimental Industrial Dark Ambient Electro Down Tempo Dreamscapes; An all-encompassing feast for the senses; caustic atmospheres build from pure frequency to delve headlong into hitherto unexplored realms of horror and delight.
2009 has seen collaborations with Bain Wolfkind on his new album 'The Swamp Angel' and guesting on Orryelle's new release 'Retcha-Watcher'. Soon to be unleashed are pairings with Peter Read, Louis Burdett, Zsa Zsa Adore & Force Fed Tim, as well as an impending TSDT release. 2008's offering was Peter Read's 'The Wellington Boot Up Files'.
December 2007 saw ‘Twisted Subterranean Death Trap’ performing a live soundtrack to ‘Dr. Mabuse - Der Spieler’ at Mercury Cinema, Adelaide. A collaboration with Can A Worms label mate ‘Spiney Fleshpot’, featuring tracks from both acts' 2007 CDs as well as Peter Read's 'The Wellington Boot Up Files'.
Patrick is from industrial electro performance ensemble 'Dweller on the Threshold' - a Sydney based project with Helene Hex Henbane, involving percussionist and sampler Glen Maltby (Beastianity) and previously, John Murphy (KnifeLadder, Death in June, SPK, NWW, Whirlyworld, etc.). 'Dweller on the Threshold' performed over many years in the Sydney & Melbourne underground music scene, recording two CDs through ‘Can A Worms’, and collaborating with many and varied Performance Artists including 'De Ja Vudoo', 'Mia Mortal' and the legendary 'Butchered Babies' in their various extravaganza’s as well as the crème of Sydney’s underground experimental noise scene. Before 'Dweller on the Threshold', Patrick, with Helene and John Murphy formed 'Jaundiced Eye', an industrial noise/art act that performed alongside many influential bands and performance artists. Patrick was a founding member of 'Box the Jesuit', playing guitar, keyboards and saxophone for the first five years of the band's long existence after originally joining the band as trumpet player when they (along with Kevin Lewis Black) were ‘Madroom’ – a seminal art rock outfit incorporating extraordinary instrumentation like shopping trolley, toy piano, wire mannequin, screeching cat gutting violin and trumpet. ‘Madroom’ released an Album and a single of Acid Dog Man before Patrick Joined and after recorded a soundtrack for an experimental film with Patrick on Trumpet. ‘Madroom’ disbanded, ‘Box the Jesuit’ rose from the
ashes, recording two releases for timberyard records -'Punch out that Looney Sappy Tune' included a film clip of the song ‘Fish Stew’ and later, the album -'Murdercycle'. Before that, an EP on Snoyd Records titled 'Bloody Mary' featuring the art of Mark Morte on the cover and an infamous cover version of 'Satan Says (Sharon Tate, you must die)' which included a sample of Charles Manson explaining ' If I started killing people, there'd be none of you left!' This track was also featured on the Black Eye Records compilation 'Waste Sausage'. Also featured on this compilation, some other projects Patrick has been involved with; 'Moist', 'Leather Moustache’ and ‘Smack of Jellyfish’; Patrick’s first serious project playing modified electric guitar for the first time and some vocals, with fellow members, Belinda Cutting sharing vocals and bass, Jackie on bass and backing vocals with Phillip Clifford of ‘Box the Jesuit’ on drums and Peter Read as engineer interjecting tapes and delay grabs. ‘Smack of Jellyfish’ were a pure onslaught of thick black noise in a maelstrom of colliding, crashing, ultra-down-tempo arrhythmia.
