What do you get when you mix steel drums, guitars, congas, strong vocals and lots of funky percussive stuff? Calypso sounds? ...Yeah... Caribbean influences?... Definitely...Rock and Roll rhythms?... Absolutely. That's Twist of Fate.... An eclectic mix of instruments playing a rich diversity of familiar sounds with their own unique style. Originating on the Island of Manhattan, Twist of Fate has been bringing to its fans the laid back, unstressed moods of a tropical island. Whether sitting on Chelsea Piers or dancing along in a club, audiences have always delighted in the good feelings that emanate from the band. A collection of percussive instruments persuades them to join along with the sounds by shaking, dancing, singing or solely keeping a beat.
In 1997, Twist of Fate began extending their influences by traveling to the Carolina coastline, an area of the country that has had much influence itself on the band. The tour continues each summer, picking up new fans and bringing together returning friends. "Follow the Rhumb Line" is an extension of Twist of Fate's summer tour. In much the same way as there live show encourages audience participation; their first CD incorporates the talents of many musicians met along the way. Their second CD "Out of the Cellar" continues the journey.
