A brief history of Tea

Tea with the Queen are an instrumental rock group hailing from the busy streets of London.

call it what you will - postrock, math rock, mathmetal, ambient progressive rock, postprog... Tea with the Queen have developed a sound that isnt easily pigeon holed - no matter how many genres you invent...

Playing together for just over a year - they have worked as individual musicians and as a group to develop a sound that is as coherent as it is disjointed.

the band began as friends split across the country - eventually settling in greater london. The individual members of Tea with the Queen have diverse and sometimes differing musical tastes, which help the band to shape a sound that draws on different ideas from all corners.

Tea with the Queen have had the opportunity to play some great shows in central London with some great bands, and have had a great deal of fun doing it too! Now how does one go about getting a gig in the palace...

Hey ,

Our first show following 3 months of writing takes place at The Fly,
New Oxford Street on November 11th. It's an industry showcase
promoted by Mean Fiddler and backed by Rock Sound Magazine. El Caco
are flying in from Norway to play on the night. We'll be letting some
new material loose! It'd be grand if you can make it.

XFM Review

I'm not totally at home with Rock (that has no extreme soppy/angry
emo leanings), but have heard enough to know that this is it done
very, very well. Deep, powerful voice, BIG music and just the feeling
that something very professional is happening -I don't mean in a
clinical way, just in that way that, when you find out they're
unsigned, it's a bit of a shock. I'd be very surprised if they didn't
massively pull it off live.

Amazing!

Leaf Hound are a total Youthmovies van favourite. My friend Thomas at Saddle Creek turned us on to them. We normally crank up 'Growers Of Mushroom' on the late night drives when we need something to keep us pumped and awake. It's our driver Danny's most requested record; "go on, stick Leaf Hound on...". Killer killer band.
