Band Websitehttp://www.freewebs.com/delmorraartes
Band Memberstwitinstasis: (otherwise known as the inevitable mr bee): acoustic/electric and slide guitars, mandola, mandolin, dulcimer, balalaika, ukulele, mandolele, auto harp, zither, 5 string banjo, oud, cigar box guitar, diddley bows, didgeridu, jaw harp, paper & comb, tambourine, pseudo-ethnic drums and all manner of home-made percussive gidgery-doos, vocal & sound fx, drum loops & all that other low-techy modern computerified stuff. Every now and then you may here a vague muttering in the background which could pass for wordifying in an improvised mantra kind of way but sometimes that is just my invisible friend the gliss bliss fairy.
Influenceswhen he was a young man, well a child twitinstasis wanted to be Elvis, either that or all of Kiss depending on whose make-up he liked best that day. later he wanted to be a rambling Woody Guthrie but being a vegie the hamburger diet was out & not being a dust-bowl in sight he decided to grow up & be daevid allen instead. were these influences, I don't know. at 13 the blues & dylan & 60's pop-rock progressed into prog rock & rapidly ran away screaming at too many chord changes & po facedly arrived at the jazz fusion clowns of Zappa, Beefheart, Gong & Soft Machine whome he loves to this day. the booming god-like voices of Leonard Cohen & Patti Smith (so who said God was a boy's name) with poetry & music lulled his aching heart to sleep & gave solace to his anger & a burning desire to save the world( he wasn't sure what he was saving it for but there was always a little room in the shed for another little you-never-know-when-it-might-come-in-useful-thing-a-ma-jig). Tom Waits saw him through many whiskey soaked nights (or precisely 1 as he can't stand the stuff it makes for a maudling drunk) & low-fi'd the hi-brow with strangely cocked eye-brow spock-like into his increduality. Ravi Shankar & John Mclaughlin taught the opposing beauties of musical space & in his own mind sounding like the latter until one day he heard himself & realised that up until this point everything he'd believed was wrong, or at least mistakenly over-optimistic. On the other hand how much of these are influences and how much just music he likes and why does he keep referring to himself as he when he's really an I. Such mysteries of life we are here to fathom & of them all this must be the least. The sound of a stream and waves breaking, birdsong, the distant rush of a motorway, cables blowing in the wind and the windmills of my mind (which has got to be one of the weirdest, meaningless songs that anybody ever thought they understood) oh yes & the wind. These are all influences too. I particularly like playing guitar in a lightning storm, acoustic obviously, after all I'm mad not stupid. ...don't tell anyone but I quite like Cilla Black too... ssShhh!!! ...well ok so that was really just that one song. Johnny Cash was there for along time & Pete Seeger as it was impossible to grow up in the 70s without them especially the latter with 'little boxes' & 'where have all the flowers gone' being a staple of school assembly back then. & well my dad loved mr Cash and he was just one of those who stuck with me. Neil Young still reaches the dischords that other guitar-players dare not touch &somehow those random fret buzzes & feedbacky bits get in there...wherever that may be now that my happy pills get me through the entirety of 'puff the magic dragon' without bursting into uncontrollable sobbing fits...try it sometime...
Sounds Likerain on a hot tin roof or tinitus at 2 in the morning when nothing can drown it out except the squeaking of fingers on a blackboard or my neighbores gate banging in the wind at 2 in the morning, god i hate that gate. psychedelic-skiffle-low-tech-low-fi-low-brow-impro-free-jazz-medieval-primeval-country-folk-ambient-blues-rock...oh & can i put nu in front of that just to give me a real contemporary feel. (will that fit on the wee cards they put on cd categories in shops? like it matters )

About twitinstasis & his acoustic cheese foundation
twitinstasis & his acoustic cheese foundation is the one man bandy legged offspring of the electrique cheese fundacion & the short lived twitinstasis 80,s drama student joke reborn in the new minellium as the same band with a computer error making life too difficult to spell. Singer & guitarist, poetaster & mostly painter of pictures as opposed to walls (although Michaelangelo did ceilings so if the pope needs the owd place redoing, give us a call) this diminuitve face alike of Sebastian de Morra lost first his voice when his nose rebelled on returning from Eire against the putrescence of England's car infested land & left him with year round hayfever & then his hands with some sort of arthritic condition brought about by impending middle-age. a lover of ee cummings he shuns the full-stop period except for dramatic effect & loves the dylanesque free-form ramble (thomas not bob) the general lorquian madness & is often to be heard making strangely poetic curses in spanish about birds without sky and human cockroaches, all giving him the appearance of a mad man, jarry-like with a slight limp & less offensive protuberances under his hat. he has a large collection of head ornaments to which he considered having multiple heads grafted on so as to save on time wasted deciding which one to wear but after serious consideration decided it better to just pile them all onto the one he has been growing since about 9 months before birth. then one day the worst thing happened that after years of playing at the drop of a hat (& this happened quite a lot until somebody suggested using string) he faced the audience , made one last song & ran away screaming into his nervously wrecked confidence trickled away like tears in rain. For many years this dwarf-like figure of a man couldn't get his aching fingers to play a guitar so he started to learn ones with smaller fret-boards or none at all until one day he decided that a large 12 string may not have been the best choice of guitar for somebody as small a he & chose a smaller guitar.
