Tony White is a native of New York City, but has resided all over the US , including, Boston , Philadelphia, and is currently living in Los Angeles CA. He is an in demand session player and composer for film and television.As a touring and recording musician he has played with 10,000 Maniacs,Tony Bennet, Natalie Merchant, Michael Stipe, Billy Preston, The 4 Tops , Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin the original Temptations, En Vogue, World Party,Paul McCartney, Robyn Hitchcock, The Wallflowers,Chuck Berry, Little Anthony, Dion, Frankie Avalon, Tom Jones,Tito Puente, Pablo Baptista, to name a few. He also has had the honor and distinction of playing with President Bill Clinton on two separate occasions.

Tony has released 3 solo CD's which have garnered rave reviews from such prestigious publications as JAZZ TIMES MAGAZINE. He was the featured arranger and soloist for the band 10,000 Maniacs. At the MTV inagural ball the band performed Tonys arrangement of "To Sir With Love" featuring Michael Stipe of R.E.M.
Tony is also co-leader of the group HITCHHIKER. HITCHHIKERS link can be found on this page. The group fuses jazz, world beat , and the avant garde with spoken word and has toured the world , performing with the likes of Bachir Attar, David Amram, etc....They were featured on the RYKODISK release "Kerouac:Kicks, Joys, Darkness along side, Morphine , Lou Reed and Sonic Youth.
He recently composed the music for the Television Ads of the winning campaign of AARON BROUSSARD,you may remember Broussard for his famous interview on MEET THE PRESS concerning the governments lack of attention during the Katrina crisis. He has also composed the score for films playing in and around the festival circuits with the movie "Bus Stop " being his latest. He is an active producer as well, and works with musicians covering the full musical spectrum, he hopes you enjoy his page and music.
