if you end up going to school in austria -- you must must get me one of those t-shirts that has a no-kangaroo crossing logos on it. did you see those? its an inside austrian joke (mostly because americans hear "austrian" and ask "oh, so you have lots of kangaroos?")

The Bay has its pros (warm, exciting, endless things to do, etc.) and cons (lonely, no one to do all those exciting things with, and very expensive when I have NO money). I have little moments of encouragement though: a glimpse of something aproaching a great job, the prospect of more school at a low cost, a party in West Oakland in an unexpected but interesting space. There is this gay couple that comes in to eat where I work fairly regularly and they bring their daughter with them and that to me seems so sweet and still too unconventional to be a common sight in St. Louis. I miss you St. Louis folk though.
