On these songs, influences would probably include Damien Rice, Stephen Fretwell, Ray Lamontagne, Liam Frost, Bright Eyes, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and the like. There are loads of other bands we love listening to such as the beatles, coldplay, sigur ros, who might (hopefully) have influenced us in one way or another. Our newer stuff has been influenced by Ryan Adams, Band of Horses, Joseph Arthur, and we're experimenting with "bigger sounds" in the vein of some of the aforementioned bands.
We are two brothers from Suffolk, and these recordings are the product of many years of playing together, be it busking or playing at venues in Liverpool, and the Edinburgh festival. Chris plays guitar, drums and harmonica and John plays guitar, keyboards, and bass. The songs on here are from our first efforts at a professional recording studio in August 2007. Each song is co-written and the vocals are shared whilst female backing vocals were performed by Lara Bone. We are looking to do a further recording in the near future. Whilst we are based in different cities (John currently lives in Edinburgh, whilst Chris works in Liverpool), we both frequently play in the flourishing acoustic circuits in our respective cities, and often make the journey north/south in order to play together whenever possible.
