Twos & Fews is a nascent recording imprint based in Louisville, Kentucky, and ambulating in collaboration with Chicago's Drag City label. We traffic in folk, vernacular, traditional, and/or site-specific music from around the world; are animated by the spirit of cultural equity; and are thrilled to have your interest. Twos & Fews' first release is a CD/LP of coal-miner, activist, and singer Nimrod Workman, who died in 1994 at the age of 99. Recorded by Mike Seeger in 1982, these recordings are previously unreleased and provide Workman with his first full-length album in 30 years, as well as his first-ever CD release. T&F 2, out in Oct '09, is a CD/DVD set of music and film recordings of Marrakesh Gnawa performers, made by documentary filmmaker Caitlin McNally in 2005, and entitled "Ouled Bambara: Portraits of Gnawa." Samples available here. Please enjoy.

I have been listening to grand paw Nimrods' CD "I Want To Go Where Things are Beautiful" and it has transported me back to the days of childhood, when we would visit on the weekends, always hearing him sing the words of these songs as he entertained us with the like of 'Good Morning this mornin', or the ole 'bauld headed miss'. Thank you once again to all those who took part in making this tribute possible. It has breathed life into those childhood memories.
Another grand daughter of Mr. Nimrod Workman here. I wanted to thank you for taking an interest in grand paws music. He belonged to a disappearing breed o classic story tellers. Here in Appalachia, keeping the spirit of cultural equity is very important. Extending my appreciation for keeping his music and ideals alive. M. D.
Thanks for taking an interest in Papaw Nims music! He was truely genuine and sang with true conviction! He surely left his family a legacy that cant be bought...I hold dear to my heart, everything he did to influence my life. I love you Papaw Nimrod..always!...your granddaughter Sharon
