Tickets £8.00 and £6.00 for concessions. (As it's the Kings Head that includes equity card holders)
Dreamshed Theatre present award winning modern classic play 'Two' by Jim Cartwright. The play, both witty and thought provoking, set in a Northern pub, follows an evening's events as seen through the eyes of the pubgoers and beleaguered landlord and landlady and features 14 diverse characters – all of which you will recognise as people you know, met or have seen before in your local pub and allplayed by only two actors. This is a play that grips from beginning to end with a remarkable blend of outright humour and bleak sadness that has fascinated audiences since its first showing in 1989.
This current production has been touring the UK for the last 2 years and now makes it's London première at the Kings Head theatre.
This production was recommended in The Times as a Top 5 pick to see Nationwide.

Enchanting Athleticism
Two - Everyman Studio Theatre, Cheltenham
30-July-2008
Once again the Everyman's studio throws up an absolute gem of a production.
Jim Cartwright's moving, funny and perceptive script is brought stunningly to life by sensational performances from the two actors, Jilly Breeze and Adrian Ross-Jones.
The play centres on an antagonistic couple who run a pub, yet this is no simplistic Den and Angie at war in the Queen Vic.
There is a heartbreaking subtext to their antagonism, which is counterpointed by the array of characters presented to the audience by the same two actors.
Here before us are people we all know - the sad old man with a heart of gold, the young woman and her boyfriend with wandering eyes, the lovable Brummie bicyclists in a world of their own and, chillingly, the leather-jacketed bully and his downtrodden victim.
The actors leap from part to part in a display of theatrical athleticism that leaves the audience enchanted, moved, and thoroughly entertained, and the denouement, in which the warring couple's dark and tragic secret is revealed, is hard to bear.
The play is superbly directed by Bill Cronshaw for Dreamshed Theatre. For all that is best in contemporary theatre, get a ticket.
