We primarily play an American folk style of music called old-time, which developed mainly from older English, Scottish, Irish and African folk traditions. This is typically fiddle-driven dance music, but also includes ballads, songs and other folk musical styles. Old-time music survived into the modern era primarily in the mountains of Southern Appalachia, but also in the Midwest, New England, and throughout the Southeast. Old-time music forms the foundation of the earliest forms of bluegrass and country music.
Carrie (banjo, guitar) and Chad (fiddle, mandolin, guitar) have been playing together for over eight years, mostly as street performers and closet musicians. Carrie and Chad met Chris McGarry (guitar, uke) on Boulder’s Pearl Street during the summer of 2007 and have been playing together since. All three of us recently moved to Denver and have started to play out around town. The tunes and songs here on our MySpace feature Carrie and Chad. We’ll be recording some new songs with Chris soon, so please stay tuned…

Thanks Dimers! We sure wish we had ways to come into Denver, but seems the horses are leading us South to Austin, TX. Thanks for your kind words and hospitality, and hope to see ya around some time soon!
So very sorry to be missing the Old-Time throwdown tonight. I was stoked to see you guys again so soon, bring it with the banjo uke and help Ellen celebrate! Let's make it happen again soon whether your place or mine.
