  • Bio

Brighton based unique two-piece band. Formed in Paris, France in 1993 Two Timers have forged a formidable live reputation in the UK and across all of Europe. Two multi instrumentalists that sound like a tight four piece unit. Powerful vocalist / drummer/ harmonica player Sarah James (think Sam Brown / Julie Driscoll) commands attention from the off. Guitarist Gordon Russell (ex Geno Washington, Dr Feelgood) segs from electric to acoustic, bottleneck to mandolin whilst footstomping an electrified suitcase (played like a bass drum). No slouching there then. Whilst drawing parallels with early blues outfits this band has its own definitive style and sound. (See influences to get some idea). Billed on many major European festivals, guested with such acts as The Corrs, John Mayall, Ray Davies, Ian Hunter, Taj Mahal, Maceo Parker, The Stranglers and in 2000 played a 25-date tour of venues across the UK (including Wembley) as opening act for Status Quo. Check out the vids. Better still, check them out live. .. ..

  • Blakers Park Community …

    Dear Picnickers
This year’s Blaker’s Park Community Picnic will be held on Saturday 19th June but family concerns mean that I have had to withdraw from organising live music this year – I cannot be sure to be available on the day and am unable to put in the preliminary work required.
There is still the possibility that we could seem some live acts if someone or a group of experienced Picknickers could get together to put on a show.
It would not necessarily have to be on the same scale as we have provided for the last 2 years. Any amount of live performance would be appreciated – even a number of busking acts popping up now and again throughout the day.
If you’d be willing to take part in organisinf such a day please let me know and I can forward your offer to the overall event organisers [Friends of Blaker’s Park] for consideration.
I am of course able to provide a full list of contacts to help in planning the day.
Asorry to be thew bearer of bad tidings but I really am in a position where I can’t commit the time and energy required this year
Hopefully next year will see a retyrn to the full works!
Cheers and thanks for your input in the past.
