UPDATE
Ok Samsons and Delilahs, here is the scoop on the positively precocious people I have had the pure pleasure of making music with for the last few months.
First and foremost: MATTHEW AND THE JUDES
As my last update explained in eloquent verse, I was able to make some bang up recordings with Mister Matt Whittle this past winter. Said recordings were mixed by myself and one Danielle Warman. And then we had this guy named Joe LaPorta to master it at a place called The Lodge. Then guess what happened? I'll tell you: It was done and and it was beautiful and tied with a bow made of twine and wrapped in newspaper and digitally posted at the Matthew and the Judes myspace page. When purchased in its physical form, something extra special happens - the owner receives a highly regarded artifact of culture with beautifully designed album art to boot. As you can see, there is no losing in this game called "Where On Earth?"... thats why we love playing.
Second and foremost: SPACES FOR MORNING
While things hiccuped a tad this cold spring, everything for this project is well on its way to a town called "All The Songs Are Done Being Recorded and Will Be Mixed by Gabe and Danielle" (i don't know if you have been to this hot tourist attraction but it is highly recommended on trip-advisor). All I can say is you should practice your sewing to stitch your heart and intestines back into your body after hearing this. Johnny has laid some serious vocal work down and the rest of the boys were drinking pomegranate juice when they recorded so you know it will be coursing with antioxidants while maintaining its uniquely fresh taste. yes!
Look out in June for this release. Its in the third trimester, the walls in the nursery are already painted.
Third and foremost: CRUX
So, Crux... what is crux? Crux is food for the soul. Its that road trip with your friends, your first new york apartment, that fist fight you lost but don't tell anyone about. The 4 men that decided to form this musical ensemble have talent dripping from their whisky breathed mouths and simultaneously oscillate between being unabashedly handsome and peculiarly debonair. They have a way with microphones too and recorded some songs on their own. I only added my own touches during a few late night and slightly intoxicated mixing sessions at NYU's own studio A with Danny Bateman, a renaissance man to say the least.
If you like what you hear, stop by their page and smoke a myspace cigarette with them, they would love to meet you.
Here, your emotions will become expressions.
