Twyce got his first guitar as a young child from an old gypsy back in Wales who told him one day he would be famous, he's still trying to live up to that premonition. Totally committed to becoming better at what he does Twyce has played all over the world from the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville to the Mt Isa Rodeo. Twyce comes supported by an enormous body of work - an eclectic collection of songs written over his lifetime of experiences, from his childhood in Wales to singing and playing his way around the outback.
Growing up in South Australia Twyce worked as a Disc Jockey work that took him to Tasmania where he would run into a promoter named John Robinson who would induct him into his Show Band giving Twyce the opportunity to hone his musical, comedic and performance skills which all came in very handy when he was afforded the opportunity to work at Tas TV in Hobart, Tasmania and for the next five years Twyce worked under the assumed name of Jim Shoes on a locally produced live show for children called TV POW calling on the help of his now good friend Ashley Robinson, John Robinsons son and guitarist in the Band to join him on the television show as co host operating a puppet called spot the dog who went on to achieve legendary status on the small island of Tasmania.
Parting company with Ashley after moving to Queensland Twyce pursued his musical ambitions writing songs while supporting himself working again as a Disc Jockey at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast before moving to Melbourne to form a band and release his first album Diddy Coy with Jaq Revens, Janelle Kitchen, Christine Pratico and Rod Wilson collaborating on great songs like The Result, Go for Broke and Something Real.
The band went their seperate ways after five years leaving Twyce to pursue his solo career, skilled in media Twyce worked as a cameraman shooting and editing, commercials and documentaries in the outback where Twyce found a new audience for his music playing at caravan parks, bush camps and outback pubs he soon realized that his music suited a more country audience and this promoted the release of his second album As Rough As Guts.
A short stint working for channel Ten in Ballarat as a Commercial Producer helped Twyce realise the 9 to 5 was a shortcut to the grave so trying his luck again he headed to the musical heart of Australia, the Central Coast to pursue his dream of becoming a great singer songwriter and return to his long time girl friend, I reckon I'm just about to hit my boot straps now I may be coming into this a little late but there’s one thing I know about music, its all about the song and it might have taken me a while but I think I maybee just starting to get it right
