I am still enjoying calligraphy and made Christms presents using it (see My Arts folder in Photo Gallery). I am becoming passionate (again) about the Tarot. Will keep you posted (or ask me anytime how things are going).
My intellectual and emotional passions are writing, spiritual seeking and various forms of psychological typing and studies, including Myers-Briggs, Numerology, studying Enneagrams, the occasional Tarot reading and dabbling in astrology, although these seem to fade in and out as to absolute importance depending on my mood lol.

Music
As a teenager back in the days of AM radio, I loved the Top 40, Casey Kasem and all that. As I got a bit older, I started enjoying groups like Led Zeppelin and Grand Funk, to name a couple. Into my 20's I got into other bands such as Boston, The Cars and Kansas. In my 30's I took more of a dinstinct liking for southern rock and into my 40's I "discovered" the Cure and New Order, to name a couple. Now that I am 50, I just put all that together cos I like it all and listen to my media library every night when I put out my pills.

Classic Rock: Medium Influence
80's Pop: Low Influence
80's R&B: Low Influence
I don't watch movies much, although I do have a few on DVD and a lot on VHS. The first movie that was ever a favorite was The Wizard of Oz; I used to wait for it to air once a year as a child in the sixties (anybody else remember that?) It is still a favorite! I like action movies such as the Blade movies, Armageddon, The Last Samurai and Stargate to mention a few. (3) I also like poignant (emotionally touching) movies such as The Christmas Carol (my favorite version is the one with George C. Scott that was made in 1984 although the one with Patrick Stewart is very good also), The Cutting Edge and Somewhere in Time with the late Christopher Reeve. It's a cult classic now. If you like that kind of movie and get into Time Travel like I do, rent it or something. I really liked that movie. Still discussing poignant movies, I also really enjoyed The Notebook, 10 Things I Hate about You, Save the Last Dance and Invincible. Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, For the Love of the Game and Mr. Baseball combine poignancy with baseball, which is a winner for me. (4) I have a few favorite Westerns which will show my age, but I'm a big fan of most of John Wayne's later movies, although my favorites are El Dorado and Rio Bravo. I like some of the later Clint Eastwood westerns and am a big fan of Kevin Costner's Open Range which combines action with poignancy (5) My favorite horror type flick is The Stand by Stephen King. Another favorite by him is The Langoliers. Both are totally awesome! September 16, 2007
Television
I watch very little TV as there isn't much that is worth watching in my opinion. I will occasionally watch Law and Order and I can watch Bones. I like Two and a Half Men! Am interested to see how the third season for Burn Notice goes too. I got the first season for Christmas :-) Nothing else really gets me in front of the TV except for sports. I like some of the old series that were on when I was younger. I have a season each of Kung Fu, The Wild Wild West and The Quantum Leap. I noticed at Best Buy the other day that they have the old Mission Impossible series on DVD too-- "Good Morning Mr. Phelps." Updated December 26, 2008
Books
Not reading any fiction at the moment... Stalled on a few though.
Books I recommend:
- Eragon by Christopher Paolini
- The "Dark Tower" series by Stephen King
- The Stand by Stephen King
- Time and Again by Jack Finney (the sequel wasn't as good but was worth reading to find out what happens to Simon)
- The Anubis Gates and almost anything by Tim Powers
- Songs of Earth and Power by Greg Bear
- War for the Oaks by Emma Bull
- The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
- Change your Thoughts - Change your Life by Dr. Wayne Dyer
- The "Otherworld" series and "War of the Flowers" by Tad Williams would be worth your time also. Updated December 26, 2008

About me: My name is Mark. I'm 51 and live with my wife Nancy and her dad along with our dog Spot (Red Heeler or Australian Cattle dog) plus a few cows and goats on about 55 acres in the country just north of Fredericksburg, Texas. I retired from the Navy in 1995 at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, and have had various jobs since then, presently working in Manufacturing and Shipping at the Fredericksburg Herb Farm during the day and doing some ranching before and after work and on the weekends.
Between us, we have five children - four girls and a boy. Nancy's daughters are Liz and Tricia, 26 and 23. Liz and Tricia live in a trailer on the property; it's only about about a football field away from us. The other three are from my previous marriage - Amanda, Traci and Steven, 22, 20 and 16, respectively. Amanda lives with her boyfriend, Wolf, in Houston. They are expecting a little girl in May (my first grandbaby!) Traci lives with her fiancee, Charlie, and his mom. Steven lives with his mom and stepdad. Traci and Steven live in San Antonio.
