Tyler Boeh's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Tyler Boeh began his stand-up career in Portland, Oregon shortly after graduating from the University of Oregon in 2003. In college his interest in theatre turned him into an award winning improv comedian, performing for four years in over 100 improv shows for thousands of people from Alaska to California. He proved himself as a young but formidable comedian by taking 2nd place in the Portland Comedy Competition and winning the Oregon International Comedy Competition just a few short months after stepping onto the comedy scene in 2004. In 2006 Tyler competed in the month long Seattle International Comedy Competition, where he was a finalist. Shortly following the competition, Tyler was featured in an article in Horizon Air Magazine about how comedians don’t have to move away from the NW to have a successful career in comedy. Tyler recently moved away from the NW in hopes to have a successful career in comedy. He now lives in Boston, MA, but continues to work at venues across the country. In September of 2008 Tyler participated in the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition where and took 3rd place. With a background in improv and a love for writing, Tyler’s act is fast paced with a shotgun delivery. His comedy can be described as high energy, intelligent, physical, and silly. He uses his quick wit and celebrated talent at “beatboxing” to bring audiences into a hysterical frenzy. | | Influences | Classic SNL is probably my earliest comedy influence. There are many famous comics that I admire and love to listen to, but I think the people that have had the most influence on my sense of humor are my family, my friends, and all the amazing people that I've had the opportunity to work with. I try to learn something from everyone that I work with. | | TV Shows | NESN Comedy All-Stars Season 2 hosted by Tommy Davidson. My eposide airs June 12th 2009. You can check me out on Comcast ON DEMAND in Boston under "Comedy Open Mic" heading in the "Get Local" section. Back in Portland I was a guest on the Famous Mysterious Actor Show. I love making people laugh on or off the stage, B-boying, Beat-Boxing, history, MMA, working out, A Cappella music, good hip-hop shows, hiking, old cars, new friends, dance parties, theatre, eploring, shooting pool, building forts, creating, playing, and just generally having a good time! | | Music | Real hip hop, funk, R&B, Break Beats, a cappella, or anything that makes me wanna boogie. James brown, Lifesavas, Rahzel, NAS, BEP, Blackalicious, Eminem, J5, Ozomatli, stuff that takes me back to the 'Ol school dance parties in the N.E.P. like Too Short, The Click, Dream Warriors, Bone, Snoop. And of course OTR. | | Television | I didn't have a TV for about two years and thats a great way to kick the habit. I do, however, have one guilty pleasure when it comes to TV. I love shows like "Max X", "Shocking Moments Caught on Tape", "World's Scariest Police Chases", and any type of program that showcases idiots in their natural habitat. |
