Ho-Ho-Ho ..Happy Holidays From Event-Ops's Interests
General
EVENT MANAGEMENT IS MY SPECIALTY! I love seeing what I've worked so hard for, pay off so well. I'm a pro when it comes to planning and executing any type of Concert, Event Production, Red-Carpet Events, Private Parties, Indy-Films, Feature Films, Indies, Rockers - Rockettes, Clubs, Raves, Massive Festivals... Pretty typical and normal entertainment gigs, although I always keep an eye out for a cool special event to check out and enjoy on the guest level.
Aside from all that work-o-holic nonsense.. I enjoy long walks on the beach, hiking outdoors, camping, cross-county mountain biking (its been a while), BASEBALL, exersize, fighting/boxing and political wars.
This is CHAIN REACTION, formerly Public Storage in Anaheim. I installed and designed the entire Lighting System here in the 90's. Last August 2008, The Offspring popped off a not-so-secret Free MySpace Show. Here's a video clip from it.... AND MY LIGHTING DESIGNS THAT ARE 10 YEARS OLD!
Music
When I was a kid, my dad took me to as many local and nearby Greatful Dead concerts as possible. I've seen them dozens of times, and the Jerry Garcia band even more. As a pre-teen I feel into the depths of Sublime, No Doubt, Voodoo Glow Skulls and other major/local bands that hit the air. Then I got swept into the electronic beats. I started with Jungle Sounds (140/160/180BPM on Moonshine! Do you know what's up?) then onto the Hardcore Beats with Rotterdam Terror Corps and Ron D Core- the HC Pervert. Since then I've grown all new respects for Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul and Classic Rock. I love juggling and scratching, and those are the loops. Everything else gets the boot. But I love anything live and with composed rhythm and in tune. There's no music style world wide that I can't stand listening to, except Country.
Movies
American Gangster (and THC's version on TV about World-renouned gangsters.) I Am Legend, Evan Almighty (..then) and Spiderman 1-2 (not 3) ...Simpsons was cool, if you like marathon episodes. ALL TIME FAVORITE .. Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas
EXCERP FROM NARCOTICS CONVENTION MOVIE: "Know your dope fiend, your life may depend on it
you will not be able to see his eyes, because of TeaShades. His knuckles will be white from inner tension, and his pants will be crusted with semen... from constantly jacking off when he can't find a rape victim. He will stagger and babble when questioned. He will not respect your badge. The dope fiend fears nothing! He will attack for no reason, with every weapon at his command... Beware, any officer apprehending a suspected marijuana addict...should use all necessary force immediately!! One stitch in time on him, will usually save nine on you!"
Television
This is a video of myself at about 16 or 17 on the Mic at the Masterdome, hyping up THEE-O! This is from left field, and so was my voice- back then.
******THIS IS A FAN MUSIC VIDEO, USING RARE MASTEROME FOOTAGE FEATURING MY LIGHTING CREATIONS AND LIGHTING DESIGNS FOR 4000 PERSON RAVES AT THE SAN BERNARDINO SPORTS ARENA. I ALSO HAVE THE INSTALL ON SOUND, VIDEO, LASERS AND OBVIOUSLY AS MENTONED... THE LIGHTING!

This has got to be the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. It's not some bs spam, it's dope ass shit.
Check out video of an event I produced in Los Angeles last February 2009. Give Love's 5 Year Anniversary was set to be off the chain - but was split to several locations after capacity issues at the first venue. For those of you who made it to locations 2 & 3, here's what you missed:
NEW CREATION - By Dirt for the 7th Day Advent Church

Most kids don't know what they want to do when they grow up... Realistically speaking. When I was 10, I was already rewiring the home audio surround sound, plugging in more Christmas lights than Times-Square, rigging full size fly-rails at home and built my first wooden drum-riser. As a pre-teen I was into putting on Magic Shows to hustle money, following around festival producers and hanging out backstage at concerts and festivals to open my eye to the world of production. I'd be helping out at the local city fairs and learning the tools of the trade on my way... CAREER CHOICE: PRODUCING EVENTS - STAGECRAFT - EVENT TECHNOLOGY.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
I started Middle School and became Sr. Stage Manager within 2 months, a role was reserved for 9th grade class. From there ~ it's all history...... After school I would stay to put more effort into my drama class by building sets, props from scrap and test lighting theories. By 8th Grade, I was volunteering and interning for larger festivals, concerts and fairs. At 14 I learned how to program DMX lighting fixtures and consoles, build full stage sets and operate 64 channel audio consoles for live bands and theater. All of this came at a perfect time, and I was offered a scholarship to The Orange County High School of the Arts.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
I kept busy during the Summer before starting High School, with an internship at STAGE-TECH in Santa Ana, CA. Stage-Tech provided tons of lighting, trussing and staging at that time. All of the above primarily included extensive labor and training exercises, including my first glimpse at concert arena tours, dance festivals and Broadway theatricals.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Transitioning to High School was a breeze.. One day I was a kid with no responsibilities, the next- I was a YOUNG ADULT! High School opened a whole new world of work, internships and networking. After issues at home, I moved out at 16 and remained independent throughout the rest of my high school and college years. I graduated High School through independent studies at 16 while on the road.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Freshman year also meant a part time job with Spectrum Production (aka SEE FACTORY) in Buena Park, CA. Spectrum provided stage technology for large festivals, venues and concert tours. It was here that I was trained by guru Roy Zartman, an extremely talented and motivational production manager who owned the company that he started at age 25 (at that time thinking I have 10-years to start something myself- in order to be just as successful one-day.)
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Those first couple of years in the industry taught me stage etiquette, show conduct and common-sense. Like what to wear, how to act, which way to sweep the stage, and how to put on a show.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
By the time I graduated, I decided to leave the High School of the Arts, and go back on the road.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
I was 15 when I first met Manny Gutierrez, owner of Atlas Sound (aka Shredder Sounds -because it SHREDS the competition.) Manny was the GO TO GUY when it came to how to run your show or map-out your festival grounds. HE KNEW IT ALL! Manny is a true inspiration, as for a man of 5' - he oversees and manages more than you could imagine. His enormous reputation and endless clientele made him untouchable. These days he plays in the pro-league with the big-boys and networks, directing events at venues like The Nokia, Staples Center and Kodak. He gave me a whole-new outlook on the other way of doing things, the production side (it is not all lights, camera, audio) by directing every aspect required in producing an event - including negotiation to execution of venue, law enforcement, labor crews, vendors, security guards and stagehand Unions. Over a decade and a-half, Manny has continued to fool me, school me and teach me more than anyone ever could..
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
By my 18th birthday: I had worked at least once in every major event and convention space in Southern California. Produced my own music events and concerts for over 5,000 people a piece.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
From 17 to 20: I held a position as House Production Manager for The San Bernardino Sports Arena (3,500 cap.) aka The Masterdome under See Factory Production. After the SB Arena closure 2001, I was started as Production Manager / Event Coordinator at The Orion Event Center (4,000 cap.) as Assistant Manager and Production Coordinator. Although my weekdays belonged to the Disneyland Resort where I engineered at both Y Arriba, Y Arriba (now Tortilla Joes) and House of Blues.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
At 22: Feeling like I had not fulfilled the true ROADIE EXPERIENCE, I set back out on the open road and toured several years with WARPED TOUR! (3rd Trip) - TOOL - CHRISTINA AGUILARA - NO DOUBT - MARIAH CAREY - HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL TOUR and BARRY MANILOW. When home in LA (off tour), I joined stage-labor firms doing local crew work with Arena Tours, Festivals, Conventions, Corporate Events and Award Shows.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
At 24: I began managing tours and concerts for well known live acts and musicals tours (Hannah Montana, High School Musical, 30 Seconds To Mars, Common and The Pharcyde. I also led as coordinator of THE ANNUAL HIGH-DEF EXPO throughout the Western Region. At 24 I continued designing A/V systems for corporate events, weddings and banquet parties - while advancing to managing more festival and event production. I also produced my 25th "All-Age Event," under my event company, TYCO PRODUCTION / TYCO EVENTS. Each show averaged 1000-5000 guests. My largest event to date was on New Years day in the year 2000, which drew 8,000 guests to the Fox Theater (and surrounding vicinity) in Pomona. During the same years I worked for Master P doing independent films as his Producer's Assistant. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
At 27 I returned to work for the Worlds Largest Audio Visual supplier of Event Technology, at the 2nd Happiest Place On Earth.. The Disneyland Resort & Expo Hall. Presentation Services as the Event Technology Specialist.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Going on 30- I continue my wide career with all of the above. Now however, my lives' canvas is a bit larger for myself and CEO, Geoff Davis. By launching the 2008 start-up company EVENT OPERATIONS, I've started painting the background of my masterpiece.

I'm a hard worker with a dedicated crew. I enjoy the company of those who enjoy staying productive and helping their friends out possitively. I've seen friends get brought down and bring others around with them. I know what influence a person can have on their friends. I control an atmosphere through spirit and attitude, so I keep high morale and ethics, in attempt to better the same of those around me. Life has a domino effect that continues until a domino fall far enough a way, to keep the rest standing.
I'm always down to hang out and fulfill life (hiking, traveling, sports) and just have a good time. I work full time++ with Disney, doing event technology within the property is amazing.
I'm not closed minded to any race or nation. I live by the basis of respect shown, respect given. Just be yourself and act right.
