..Ty Jeffries began playing at around five years old when his parents were given an old grand piano which they used to keep in the garden shed. Ty began composing immediatly spending hours lost in his own world, discovering new melodies... .. At the age of thirteen Ty won a place to the Purcell School of Music in London and later achieved a BA in performing arts from Middlesex University... .. "I was encouraged in my composition at an early age by film-score composing legend Elmer Bernstein who heard me play when he used to come to visit my parents (his father is veteran British character actor Lionel Jeffries) and later Vangelis took me under his wing giving me a lot of encouragment. I was lucky enough to be in the studio with him when he created the soundtrack for Chariots of Fire" recalls Ty.. .. Ty was signed to Elton Johns Rocket Music, has written chart hitting pop songs, been a session musician and in the 1990s was a band member of Billy Mackenzies 'Associates'. .. " I have always been influenced by French Impressionist music such as Ravel and Debussy and the movie soundtracks of golden age Hollywood. I aspire to create music that is emotionally moving and sparks the imagination, somehow allowing us to revisit that half remembered landscape of our dreams "... .. Now based in the seaside town of Brighton U.K. Ty continues to write and perform his particular brand of haunting and evocative solo piano music. .. There are two CDs ready for release. "DUSK IN THE LUXEMBOURG GARDENS" and "SEASCAPES" coming soon to CD baby and itunes. .......... .. .. ..
