(1/30/09) I've been chosen by violinist Piotr Szewczyk to write a new piece for his Violin Futura.. project. The piece will be played in recital with works by 30 other composers and will eventually be released as a cd. In other news, Stranger Variations is set to be released on an album featuring Stony Brook faculty and three student composers to be released sometime this year. The disc is being produced by contemporary classical recording icon, Judith Sherman (Kronos Quartet, Eighth Blackbird, American Brass Quintet, etc.). Exciting!
(4/1/08) Imminent Rock has won third prize in the 2008 Penfield/Wegmans Composition Contest for Wind Ensemble music. There were 66 entries from the United States, Europe, and Asia. The three winning compositions will be performed on May 13th, 2008.
