About me:
Tyler Ricard is a 15 year old boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of four, The easy way to explain Duchenne's is his body doesn't produce the glue that holds his muscles together so the muscles break down and get weak. Tyler is now confined to a wheelchair, but not just any wheelchair, he has the customized wheelchair, customized by Fast Eddies motorcycle shop in Chelmsford MA. Being in the wheelchair has not stopped Ty he is still very active and happy. He is probally the bravest and toughest kid I have ever met.The Tyler Ride is a motorcycle poker run that is based out of Westford Massachusetts, It starts at the VFW on West Prescott St. and travels all scenic country roads through Mass and southern NH, with stops at the Brookline Auction Gallery in Brookline NH, continuing to Brady's American Grill in Peterborough NH,and then returning back to the VFW, for an old style backyard cook-out,with all sorts of raffles, and best bike on the ride contest. All the money raised goes to the Tyler Fund which is a fund set up to help with all Tyler's medical expenses not covered by insurance.
I would like to take this time thank everyone who has helped in this ride, either rider, passenger, band, cook, or volounteer without you all this would not be possible. Who I'd like to meet: Thank you to everyone that help made the 10th annual Tyler Ride on Saturday July 11,2009 a huge success!!
First and for most we need to thank all the riders that took part in the ride,there was a little less then 400 motorcycles on this awesome weather day.
Thank you to the Brookline Fire Department for everything you guys did from registration to cooking to cleaning up without any hesistation.And to the Brookline Police Department thanks for helping with traffic and thanks to the guys that helped on there day off.Thanks Officer Pelletier for getting our event on the speed sign.(we missed you at the ride though)
Thanks to Barry and everyone at Brady's,Brain and everyone at the Westford VFW and the Pelletier Family for hosting our stops this year.
Thanks to all the volunteers,people cheering for Tyler on the side of the road and for everyones thought and prayers for our family and Tyler.
