For over a decade his DJ career has spoken for itself, earning him a reputation worthy of residencies in some on London’s most infamous clubs. If you’ve ever ventured into The End, The Cross, The Fridge, Fire & The Mass, you’ll remember when his sets took you on a journey until the sun came up.
Moving his music to new ears, he’s guested at other major London clubs such as Brixton Academy, Ministry Of Sound, Cable, SE One, The Egg, Pacha, 54, Coronet and many other venues in London and across London & the UK.
Type 1 has played alongside some of the world’s favourites such as Groove Armada, Joris Voorn, Nic Fanciulli, D. Remirez, Luca Agnelli, Laidback Luke, A-Track, Deepgroove, Kaiserdisco, Saytek, Dub Pistols, Allan Banford, Max Cooper, Jamie McHugh to name a few.
He’s taken his sound on international ground and has toured Ibiza on several occasions at venues such as Es Paradis & Eden and other smaller venues such as Mambo, Savannah & Cafe Del Mar. He also guests at clubs in Holland, Poland, France, Goa.
Type 1 decided to make a permanent move to Bangkok in April 2012. He has already played gigs at Bed Super Club, Q Bar and Glow in the past. He has also played various gigs in Koh Phangan over the years of him coming to Thailand.
Advancing and accepting the challenge of creating his own music, Type 1 started to produce 4 years ago and decided to study a degree in music production. This has subsequently led to him releasing records on labels such as Little Mountain Records (Sander Kleinenberg), Italo Business, Tech Head, Minimtrax, Mad Hatter, Heatflow, Whirlpool Sex Music, Oda, SLR and many more.
He runs the label Malfunktion Records which has been hugely successful since the launch in June 2010. It has scored 2 No.1's on Trackitdown.net and the rest have made it into the top 20 in only 7 releases. The first release Type 1 'Poppers' climbed the charts to hit the top, knocking Toolroom Records off the top spot and stayed there for over a week.
It is the support of Type 1's productions that speaks for itself with A-listers such as Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Chris Leibing, Dubfire, Laurent Garnier, Mark Knight, Marco Carola, Markus Schulz, Marco V, Daniel Portman, The Japanese Popstars, Flash Brothers, Pedro Delgardo, Tom Hades, Ant Brooks, Luke Porter, Jon Rundell, Adam K, John Karagiannis, Piatto, Mario Piu and many more the list goes on!
2012 will be another step forward in Type 1’s musical journey. The new year looks promising for the seasoned DJ and Producer with confirmed UK gigs at Ministry Of Sound, Cable, The Egg, Crucifix Lane as well as various gigs confirmed in his new place he calls home Bangkok!
