I Tyrants nascono a Penne (PE) nel 2001, da un idea di Andrea Di Nino. In origine il nome della band era Mordor, composta da Andrea Di Nino (basso e voce), Gabriele Di Lucido (chitarra) e Antonello Giberto (batteria).
Il nome della band è ispirato al Signore Degli Anelli poichè Andrea è un grand patito di questo libro.
Nel 2001 questi 3 ragazzi di 17 anni suonavano cover di Darkthrone e Mayhem e una canzone propria dal titolo Diritus In Oblivione. Il gruppo nasce dall'idea di esprimere la loro rabbia e le loro idee, e ci riescono perfettamente con questo progetto. Dopo 2 anni il gruppo è costretto a sciogliersi poichè Andrea si è trasferito a Roma per laurearsi. Lì Andrea rimette in piedi il vecchio gruppo con un chitarrista e un batterista nuovi: Stefano Di Giovanni (chitarra) ora bassista della Death Metal Band pescarese Evilmachine e Cristian Falone (batteria). Ma a causa di alcuni disguidi nel gruppo, la band è costretta a sciogliersi nuovamente.
Un anno dopo Andrea recluta Marco Gulluni (Chitarra, Samplers, Synth e Drum Machine). Nel 2006 la band cambia nome in Tyrants e riescono a creare un demo di un intro e 3 canzoni. Il demo è autoprodotto e prende il nome dal gruppo. Le influenze della band sono Immortal, Metallica, Emperor e Marty Friedman.
Tyrants were born in 2001 in Penne, a small village of Abruzzo, Italy, from the mind of Andrea Di Nino. Tyrant's former name was Mordor, and the band was originally composed by Andrea Di Nino (bass, voice), Gabriele Di Lucido (guitar) and Antonello Gliberto (drum). The name came from Tolkien's "the Lord of the rings" book, wich is Andrea's favorite. Back in 2001, they were playing Darkthrone and Mayhem covers, as long as a song of their own called "Diritus in Oblivione". This project's main objective was to express their rage and their ideas, but in 2003 Andrea had to move in Rome so the band dismantled. Here in Rome Andrea founded another band with Stefano Di Giovanni (guitar), now playing with Evil Machine as a bassist e Cristian Falone (drums). Due to personal reasons, the band had to dismantle again.
Finally, in 2006, Marco Gulluni joined Andrea in the "Tyrants" project as main guitars, samples and drum programming; they produced also in 2006 their first work, "Tyrants". Influences came from Marty Friedman to Immortal.
Put together the first music video for one of the songs, that being for the song "Eel Marsh House", which is based on the movie "The Woman In Black". Wasn't sure to name it that instead of 'Eel Marsh..." ...Eel Marsh House being where the woman in black 'lived', and now haunts it. Though, she seems to haunt the general area of the village as well as the House. If anyone catches her gaze, looks into her eyes....a child will die, usually from the family of the person unfortunate to look at her. As you see what happens to the story's main character at the end.
