Extraordinarily talented singer and songwriter, Tyreika is truly one of todays most gifted, soulful singers that have yet to be noticed. Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised as the older of 2, she has been singing since the age of 3. Tyreika has always dreamed of becoming a famous, successful singer/songwriter. After completing high school, Tyreika decided to make her dream a reality. She performed at various functions, making a name for herself. She is known as one of B-Mores best female R& B vocalist. Loved for her powerful voice, she showcased her talents mostly performing in talent shows and local clubs. Not only did Tyreika want to sing, she wanted to know more about the music business, so she decided to attend a music seminar that came to Baltimore, which was hosted by Russell Simmons. She became more and more intrigue with the business. During her departure from the seminar, she was approached by Slim, a local studio producer. She met with him a week later and discovered his love for what he did best- making some of the best beats in B-more. Her and Slims relationship grew and they formed a bond like family. She was in the studio everyday from sunrise to sunset. With her strong writing ability she recorded 6 songs within 1 week and was noticed by various other local artists who featured her on their cd. Tyreikas name became known to many of B-mores artists and clubs. She began performing at The Five Seasons, a hip-hop club in B-More for local artists to showcase their talent, hosted by Sunny Brown, a local artist. Although it was supposed to be hip-hop night, Sunny was so impressed with her performance and vocals, he booked her for several shows. People who knew her often compared her to Lil Mo mixed with Mary J. Blige. As a songwriter and solo artist, she performed some of her most requested songs such as Gotta Have You, Radio, "Commitment, I Tried, and In Da Club. She always gets her audience pumped up with her show stopper T-Y-R-E-I-K-A. Role models such as Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Lil Mo have inspired her soulful voice and style. Determined to make it in the entertainment industry, Tyreika also considered acting. With a very supportive mother, she attended Barbizon Modeling/Acting School. She graduated in February 2005. Faced with many obstacles and disappointments, she never gave up. It only made her strive harder it what she wanted to do and become, one of the most talked about names in the industry.
