Rising out of the Shoalhaven comes Tzar Bomber. A new progressive rock force with a focused, refreshing energy and the precision and interconnectivity that belies not only their ages, but their time together as a band.
The band came together in late 2008 and is the result of previous high school projects. The aim was to combine their talents to invent a hybrid which would give birth to a fresh, unique sound. Each member contributes to the creativity and brings their own distinct musicianship to the band.
Rudd Soeriyadi and Nathan Edwards (previously of August 90) establish the heavy grunge and crunch aspect, with intense unadulterated vocals and guitar lines, plus beats ranging from tribal thunder to minimalist trip-hop patterns. Meanwhile Leland Foster and Kai Whitaker (Once and Always) deliver the soaring melodies and mammoth riffs that give Tzar Bomber an unorthodox edge. These elements combine to create a pillar of sound that penetrates ones consciousness and refuses to leave.
After their first recording sessions with Adrian Breakspear (Bloc Party, Black Kids) in Electric Avenue Sydney, and Ben Moore (Leonardo’s Bride, Finn Brothers) in 313 Studios Nowra, Tzar Bomber met with swanky manager Lachlan James. The band has now released their debut EP ‘Melt On Like This’ in September.
The band has shared the stage with bands such as; The Pennys, The Greenroom, Mother and Son, The Polar Opposites, The Tokyo Spares, Dinkibike, Lint, Temtris, Delinquent, Ruckus, Manikett, Shady Nook, The Cruise, Obscura Hail, Stiff Cookie, Invictus, Apollo 4:10 and Entourage.

hmm, yeah, i know its unique, buts its kinda lame and i want something with a bit more meaning... haha, yeah true, but when thinking of names about %70 of them are 'The...' hahaha, yeah, we arn't hardcore enough for that too... yeah, we'll defenatly have to do a Noize/Skin & Coffee event somewhere, that'd be sweet...
oh, did i say band member? i meant name, yeah, want a new name purely because we dont like 'Manikett'... its pretty silly and doesnt make alot of sense... oh i sent it to the guitar.gaming one, is that alright? there are some up on our myspace, and im email them now, but its taking ages to upload
ermm, well hopefully wollongong youth centre soonish, then we're booked up at engadine for feburary sometime, besides that, we arn't gigging too much lately, it'd be cool to get abit more happening, but basically want to write some new songs, finish ep and get a new band name first... oh and the pictures of the other night are in my possession, i just have to compress them because they are about 3mb each at the moment and there are stacks, then i'll email them to you asap, you should have them by tomorrow... love
