uBer DjS have been DJing for about 7 years now. Their syle has progressed somewhat over the years into a now eclectic mix of electro, minimal, funky techno.
It all began in 2000 after buying their first pair of decks. Influenced by the current scene at the time, Hard House was the genre were it all began for Uber DJS, going to clubs in Birmingham such as Sundissential and Gods Kitchen. It wasn’t long before they were producing their own mixtapes & hunting down the latest tunes. Within 6 months they had really progressed and they were getting some very positive feedback.
Their first break came in 2001 when Eyrezy won a DJ competition called 'KING OF THE DECKS' in Birmingham, which landed Uber DjS some regular gigs around Birmingham. It was also in that year they opted for a change of direction, again influenced by the clubs they went to they got into the funky house scene, By the end of year Uber DJS started to promote their own club night called Merchant Mayhem on Broad St in Birmingham attracting regular crowds each week. This experience then led to getting other gigs outside Birmingham in cities such as Wolverhampton, Derby, Liverpool and in Walsall where they later went on to promote another night call Refresh Friday.
By 2006 their style had gained more of an electronic feel and later that year they launched another new club night called ElectroTek with successful nights held at Type3 and DragonEye. Fusing electronic beats, tech-house and beeps & sqeeks. This was also the year that Eyrezy gained qualifications in sound engineering and music production.
Over the last couple of years Uber DJs have continued to dj around bars and clubs in the midlands ‘We feel that we have become very versatile, gained a lot of valuable experience and played along side some top industry djs.
2008? Uber DJS are busy working in the studio producing their own blend of electronic music, from minimal to maximal to damn right filthy! Also, they are introducing Ableton Live! into their DJ sets. 'its all about ableton live – we're using it more & more for live remixing and playin about with samples into our sets! They also plan to start their record label this year so watch this space in the future!
