The idea for UC5 was born two decades ago. The original concept was to meld the classic sounds of rock, edgy guitar, thick bass, and a funky rock beat with the more cutting edge world of synthesizers, sequencers, and electronic percussion. Of course that is standard practice in 2008, but that was a good place for UC5 to be. In those early years UC5 wrote and recorded, played festivals, clubs, and parties, and produced their own 45 and music video.
Years later, after an array of musical projects, RT Colasurdo and Robert McBride decided a renewed musical collaboration was in order. Luckily they found Matthew Peteshel to add his talents on the drums. Matthew is a phenomenal singer/songwriter/guitar player and can be seen playing in his band Dialogue.
UC5's latest release features guest appearances on several of tracks. 'Ricky's Song' was written in honor of the late great Rick Wolfe, good friend/partner in music, and features Neil Morris on the 1973 Fender Precision Jazz bass. Neil also laid down the bass track for 'Fast Living'. Dave Pivetta laid down some serious strat tones, second solos, on 'Fast Living' and 'Dress Work Boots.
UC5 is dedicated to write and record quality timeless music that transcends genre and demographics. The music is produced with an Indie spirit and based on strong roots in the American tradtion of rock, blues, R&B and Country. Inspired by the music of the world, the members of UC5 are always looking forward to where their musical explorations might lead...
