Established at UCLA in 1920, the Department of Military Science/Army ROTC program develops students into leaders who exhibit self-discipline, initiative, confidence, intelligence and physical fitness. Completion of Army ROTC and your regular college degree requirements leads to supervisory-level positions in military intelligence, law, engineering, aviation, finance, logistics, nursing and more. In addition to traditional classroom training, students in the Army ROTC program gain hands-on experience with exciting field training exercises and can attend specialized training courses to learn how to parachute, rappel from helicopters, and survive extreme weather conditions.
Who I'd like to meet: Current and future Cadets and Alumni.
Uncle Sam needs motivated young men and women with a desire to lead America's bravest sons and daughters into battle and bring them home a live.

‘samSForce’ is a NEW community for U.S. Military, and their Supporters. It was developed by members of all service branches, retired military, and their supportive significant others. You can discuss anything from Veteran’s Advocacy to training and recipes. It would be an honor to have YOU stop by anytime!
Just wanted to wish the commissioning class, congratulations and good luck. Depending on the house votes, most of the class may find themselves deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. I wish you all good luck with your continued education and experiences in the army. Thank you for you committed service and the many sacrifices you are making.
CPT Todd Barrett, class of 2004, 11 year veteran of this great Military.
To the Cadets of the Mighty Bruin Battalion: As our Nation celebrates our Independence from Britain, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the UCLA Army ROTC Program. In choosing ROTC you have made the hard decision to forego some of your own personal individuality and belong to something greater than yourself. Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “The price of Freedom is eternal vigilance.” It is particularly ironic that those with whom you will soon protect will never understand what this price will cost you and your loved ones. It is this noble act, the act of Selfless Service to our Nation, which sets you apart from the rest of our citizenry.
I wish you all, the future leaders of America’s Sons and Daughters, the best of luck in your academic careers and great success as the future of the United States Army Officer Corps. -art Gutty Little Bruin BN Class of ‘99

Read his story and remember his service on this day. This War has not affected enough people in this country…. Read one Soldiers story about his love and devotion to those he served with.
… I would appreciate any comments and or condolences for First Sergeant Garza. Thank you…
