Alpha Chi Omega was founded on October 15th, 1885 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. The sorority has expanded to 135 chapters nationwide and recently initiated its 200,000th member. Since being founded on the UCR campus in 1992, the Iota Xi members have won numerous academic, recruitment, alumnae relations, philanthropic, and finance awards - but the chapter prides itself most on being Nation Council Trophy finalist, making them one of the top five Alpha Chi Omega chapters in the nation! The primary philanthropy aids Victims of Domestic Violence through their annual fundraiser- Mr. Alpha Chi- in which campus fraternities and organizations compete in a male pageant as a way to raise money for local shelters. The women of Alpha Chi Omega maintain the desire to come together as a sisterhood, to challenge one another, to grow and to learn and to make a difference to the greater world outside their circle.
