My favourite guitar players are Pierre Bensusan, Davey Graham, John Renbourn and Andrew York, but there are many more..... Apart from the many great guitarists I've heard along the way I have been influenced by a wide range of composers like John Dowland, Thurlough O'Carolan, and ultimately Bach.
Sounds Like
People have been kind enough to compare my playing with John Renbourn and Bert Jansch
I'm an acoustic guitarist playing what's generally called "fingerstyle" these days. The range of my playing goes from Folk to Classical with Celtic, Blues and a bit of Jazz on the way. I've been playing most of my adult life, and studied with Davey Graham back in the 1970s and more recently with Pierre Bensusan.
I have included a few pieces from my CD, Soliloquy - there's a selection of original tunes and arrangements of better known pieces including a couple of O'Carolan pieces.
I have a new Fylde classical guitar, which has turned out to be the most amazing inspiration so I am studying Bach every spare minute and will be recording again soon.
I'll add more information as I get time, so please come back and have another look.....
Hi, Udo, Thanks for the add, and for the kind words as well. Tristano has captivated me since Graham first recorded it, but I had to wait for the technology of slow-down software to finally be able to approach it on the guitar! You have some lovely music here as well. I particularly like "A Rat's Tale". Be well, Rolly
