    "I buried my heart in Anatolia with my cello..." He was born in Istanbul in 1964. When he was 10, he started his music career at Besiktas Musiki Cemiyeti which was then led by a significant musician, Radife Erten. He continued playing the lute until he was admitted by the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory in 1981. In the conservatory, he was trained by very successful musicians such as Ömer Şatıroğlu for the lute and Hüsnü Özenen, Nejat Tekebaş and Zafer Köke for the cello. Between the years 1985 and 1995, he worked as a professor in the same conservatory. He then won the professional stringed instrument musician audition which was held by the Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) in 1985. Besides cello, playing lute and bass kemenche, he joined a clasical Turkish music band called "Bosphorus" in 1992. He has given numerous solo concerts and with bands such as Anadolu Feneri, Sarband, Sultan's Minstrels, Minstrels Era, Seyir, Ince Saz, etc. and spoken at various seminars all around the world . He also contributed to the soundtracks of many movies and documentaries. He prepared the musical content of "Last Ottomans" documentary, the TV show " Back room of the History", Canadian made movie "Snow", and "Danube" documentary, jingles of Haberturk TV channel and all the musical content of a news chanel, AHaber, in 2011. In 2005, launched his first solo album "Cello Unveils Anatolian Spirit" where he used cello outside of its traditional use in Western Classical music and gave examples from the music of various cultures of Anatolia. His first solo concert was on March 2001 in Rotterdam and Amsterdam within the "Turkey now" festival. He then gave concerts in Antwerpen, Belgium and Den Haag, Holland. He launched his second solo album "Cello Invocations" in 2008, that included various religious songs. Within the frame of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture events, he directed the Darü'l-Elhan Külliyatı which was fully recorded for the first time in history. Besides his position in TRT, he has been continueing to present his work and produce new music to reach out more people in the world.
